This is a QUALIFYING year, however this tournament is not sanctioned by USA Pickleball or any other governing body.
Events will be based on age and skill with the age levels in 5 year bands beginning at 50 and ending with 85+. Skill levels are 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5+. UTPRs will be used, and if a player does not have a UTPR for an event then the WPR will be used. If there is not a WPR then it will be the self-rating the player listed in Pickleballbrackets.com. In doubles, you play at the higher skill level of the partners and the lower age. You may play at a higher skill level but not a lower one. You may not play in a lower age group unless your partner is that age.
The tournament will run on the following days:
Thursday, Aug 22: both men's and women's singles
Friday, Aug 23: women's doubles
Saturday, Aug 24: men's doubles
Sunday, Aug 25: mixed doubles
Please note that there will only be 9 courts available on Thursday and Friday. Saturday and Sunday all 12 courts will be available.
Actual event start times will be posted two days prior.
Players needing partners are responsible for finding their own pairings, so please check back often to look for possible teammates. It is not the responsibility of the tournament director to pair up players needing partners.
The tournament director reserves the right to combine brackets after the close of registration to accommodate events with less than three teams. Events with only three teams will play a single round robin. Otherwise, this is a double elimination tournament. Medals in combined brackets are based on how you did against teams of the same age/skill. Players from Delaware will be awarded medals based on placement in the age/skill compared to other players from Delaware.
You must be a 2024 member of Delaware Senior Olympics ($30). Please go to https://delawareseniorolympics.org/membership-signup/ to complete your registration process.
