Volley for Villages Tournament
Presented by Dill Dinkers UTSA x Dental Legacy Foundation
Grab your paddle and play for a purpose at Volley for Villages, a pickleball tournament benefiting the Dental Legacy Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving access to essential dental care and oral health education in underserved communities around the world.
Why We Play
In rural Tanzania, one dentist serves approximately 400,000 people, and an estimated 76% of children have never seen a dentist. Through volunteer dental missions, local provider training, and community oral health education, Dental Legacy Foundation is working to change those statistics and create sustainable, long-term impact.
Every serve, volley, and dink helps support efforts to:
- Provide essential dental care to underserved communities
- Deliver oral hygiene education and preventive resources
- Train and empower local healthcare professionals
- Build a lasting legacy of healthier, brighter smiles
About Dental Legacy Foundation

DUPR Scored Tournament Information
This tournament will be DUPR scored. All players are required to have a DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) account prior to participating. DUPR is a global rating system that tracks player performance based on match results, regardless of age, gender, or location, and provides an accurate, dynamic skill rating.
Registration Requirements
- Enter your DUPR ID in the registration field provided.
- Ensure your DUPR profile is active and accurate before the event.
Division Guidelines
- Players are responsible for registering in the correct division based on their DUPR rating.
- The tournament director reserves the right to move, adjust, or decline players or teams who are not appropriately placed, including cases of sandbagging.
- Players are allowed to play up in higher divisions.
What is sandbagging?
Sandbagging is when a player intentionally registers for a lower skill division than their true ability in order to gain an unfair advantage. This takes away from fair play and the competitive experience for others. Our goal is to create balanced, enjoyable competition for all players, so please register in the division that best matches your current level.
Team Eligibility Rules
- At least one player on the team must fall within the DUPR range for the division.
- No player may have a DUPR rating above the division maximum.
Example: A 3.7 rated player may compete in the 3.5–4.0 division with a 3.4 partner. That same 3.7 player may not compete in the 3.0–3.5 division.
- If you need a partner, please put "need partner" in the appropriate field.
Additional DUPR Notes
- All match results will be submitted to DUPR and will impact your rating.
- Players should use their full legal name in DUPR to avoid duplicate profiles.
- If you do not yet have a rating, you may still register but must create an account prior to play.
- Ratings can change after each match, so compete accordingly.
- By registering, players agree to abide by DUPR standards and tournament placement rules.
We appreciate your cooperation in keeping competition fair and fun for everyone.
