PROTECTIVE EYEWEAR
Protective Eyewear is required for all participants during play. No eyewear - no play. Prescription glasses are acceptable.
SANCTIONED TOURNAMENT
The tournament is sanctioned by Pickleball Canada. To play in the tournament you must be a Pickleball Canada member in good standing at the time of registration and throughout the tournament. Additionally, you must have a DUPR profile on Pickleball.Com.
TOURNAMENT SECTIONS
The tournament has two sections: REGULAR (3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5) and OPEN
The “Open Prize Money” event has a pool of up to $10,000 available to the medalists’ in each category (Women/Men/Mixed and Men/Women Singles). The prize money pool will be determined by the number of teams in each category.
REGISTRATION FEE
REGULAR -$75 plus $25 an event.
OPEN -$75 plus $60 an event.
Payment is only through 'Stripe' within the Pickleball Brackets system. It accepts both credit and debit cards.

REGULAR EVENTS
Men's/Women's/ Mixed Doubles
AGE GROUPS
Players will register in their appropriate skill level. At the the time of registration there will be only one age group, i.e., ANY AGE. When registration closes the players will be broken into groups based on the age of teams signed up. The tournament committee will determine if the groups are split into 5 teams (or 6 or 7 teams) or 10 teams with 2 pools depending on the age of players signed up
If a higher skill level does not have 5 teams or a multiple of five teams and the next lower skill level has a wait list, then the highest rated team in the lower skill level will be asked if they wish to play up and a team from the wait list will be incorporated into the lower skill level
REGULAR FORMAT
Round Robin in pools - 1 game to 15, win by 2, no cap.
1 group of 5:
* Bronze medal game - 3rd vs 4th from RR - 1 game to 15, win by 2, no cap
* Gold Medal Game - 1st vs 2nd from RR, best 2 out 3 to 11, win by 2, no cap
1 group of 10 (2 pools):
*top 2 teams from each pool go to semi finals - 1 game to 15, win by 2, no cap
*Bronze Medal Game - 1 game to 15, win by 2, no cap
Gold Medal Game - best 2 out 3 to 11, win by 2, no cap
Every team will play at least 4 matches.

PRIZE MONEY
Based on a minimum of 10 Teams in each category, the prize money per team will be distributed as follows:
Women's Open Event: 1st: $1,200, 2nd: $500, 3rd: $250, Total $1950
Mixed Open Event: 1st: $1,200, 2nd: $500, 3rd: $250, Total $1950
Men's Open Event: 1st: $1,200, 2nd: $500, 3rd: $250, Total $1950
Women's Open Singles: 1st: $1000, 2nd: $500, 3rd: $250, Total $1750
Men's Open Singles: 1st: $1000, 2nd: $500, 3rd: $250, Total $1750
If fewer than 10 teams are registered in a category the prize money will decrease based on the following formula:

8 Teams: 1st: $960, 2nd: $400, 3rd: $200, Total $1560

No prize money will be awarded in any category which has fewer than 5 teams in doubles events, or 5 players in singles events, registered.

REGISTRATION
* Registration opens on Aug 10 , 2025, at 6 PM (PDT). and closes on Sept 5, 2025, at 4 PM (PDT)
* All Registration is through Pickleball Brackets where you must have established a profile.
* A pair's status in the tournament is not verified until the 2nd partner registers. Failure of the 2nd partner to register within five (5) days of the 1st player registering may jeopardize the status of the pair.
* You may change partners any time prior to the registration cutoff. However, doing so may put your registration into the wait list.
* Changes may be allowed after registration is cut off, but you can only choose a new partner from those not currently partnered. The Tournament Director must be informed and has the right to veto a new partnership.
EVENT ELIGIBILITY
* Skill Level: The skill level of players is determined by their data in their DUPR profile at the time of registration.
REGULAR
SKILL
In accordance with Pickleball Canada directive, a team of the same skill level may play up two skill levels. For example, a team with both players at the 3.5 level may register for 3.5, 4.0 or 4.5. However, a team with one player 3.5 and the other 4.0 can only play at 4.0 or 4.5
AGE
An older player may play in a younger age group. A younger player may not play in an older age group. No player may play down from their skill level. Age is determine as of December 31st, 2025.
OPEN
To register in an Open doubles event, at least one player on a team must have a DUPR rating of 4.5 or higher. To register in an Open singles event, a player must have a DUPR rating of 4.0 or higher.
EQUIPMENT
* Paddles must be USAPA approved paddles: https://equipment.usapickleball.org/paddle-list/
* Ball: The tournament ball is Franklin X-40
* Clothing: If a player is wearing clothing that is the same colour as the ball, s/he might be asked to change apparel by the Tournament Director.
OFFICIATING
All matches, where possible, will be refereed.
SCHEDULE
Women will play on Friday, October xx, Mixed on Saturday, October xx and Men on Sunday, October xx. Event scheduling by time will be available closer to the event based on event sizes.
PLAYER PLACEMENT
• The Tournament Director(s) reserve the right to cap the number of registrants on any one day of the tournament when the facilities/schedule reach capacity.
• The Tournament Director(s) reserve the right to review, and possibly alter the rating of players who self-rate below or above their actual rating.
• The tournament reserves the right to move players and teams between skill level brackets if on verification the wrong event has been entered.
• The tournament reserves the right to combine brackets at their sole discretion based on participation numbers.
• The tournament reserves the right to change start times.
