Round Robin: Games to 11, win by 2.
Bracket: Games to 15, win by 2.

To determine the correct division for your pickleball team, we use a combination of your team's DUPR rating and a limit on the higher-rated player. Here's how it works
1. Team Rating: A team rating is calculated using 80% of the higher-rated player's rating plus 20% of the lower-rated player's rating.
2. Division Fit: Your team's rating must fall within the established rating range of a division to qualify for it.
3. Top Player Limit: The higher-rated player on the team cannot be more than 0.1 rating points above the top of the division's rating range.
Example Team Rating: Player A is a 4.05 and Player B is a 3.62, the team rating is (4.05 x .80) + (3.62 x .20) = 3.964
This team could play in the 3.75 - 4.0 division, because 1) the team rating is within those bounds and 2) the top player (4.05) is less than .1 above 4.0, the top of the division limit.
There are a few known DUPR issues that will be also considered.
1. Zero-Game Bug: A DUPR bug sometimes assigns a rating to players with no recorded games.
2. DUPR Reliability Score: If the Players DUPR Reliability Score is below 60, that rating is considered by DUPR to be unreliable - we encourage players to record more games if this is the case but we may take into account previous tournament placement for these situations (moving teams up or down divisions).
If there are any questions about how to calculate your team rating or which division you should be in, please reach-out to blake@pintsandpaddle.com and we will help get you placed. If you notice teams / players in the wrong division, feel free to flag as well. We are committed to making this tournament fair and competitive for all players.
Unrated players may be allowed to play in divisions based on the tournament directors discretion. A DUPR account will still be required so scores can be recorded.
If your DUPR rating changes in a way that changes the division you should be playing in after registering, please reach out to the tournament director. We will be performing periodic DUPR checks and moving teams to the correct divisions. Your team may be moved to a waitlist if your division has to be changed due to incorrect DUPR ratings. If your DUPR rating is right on the border, we suggest you signup for the HIGHER division to avoid getting moved up and put on a waitlist.
Players are required to use a paddle approved by either UPA or USAP. If a paddle is not approved by either UPA or USAP, then the player will need to change paddles to an approved one.
Prizes will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
Important: After registering, teams have 7 days to register their partner. Teams that miss this deadline will be moved to the waitlist.
ESTIMATED division start times are listed but are subject to change based on how the brackets fill. Official start times will be provided 1 week before the tournament. In general, the estimated start times are within the general range (a few hours) of when your division will start.
Divisions can start as early as 7am and as late as 6pm.
In the interest of maintaining the tournament schedule, the Pickleball Director reserves the right to adjust scoring rules as needed. However, any adjustments will be announced and applied consistently across all matches.
PADDLES: Players are required to use a paddle that is approved by either UPA or USA pickleball.
