Why the Fall Mountain Classic?

We’re setting out to create one of the most exciting pickleball tournaments the Shenandoah Valley has ever seen.

The Friendly City Inaugural Fall Mountain Classic is more than a tournament — it’s a full weekend built around great competition, an incredible player experience, and the community that makes pickleball so special.

Whether you're chasing gold, looking to test your game, or just want to be part of something new, this is your chance to be there from the very beginning.

Pickleball Tournaments charges a separate site fee per registration. This fee is collected by Pickleball Brackets and is outside the control of Friendly City Pickleball.

All tournament matches will be reported to DUPR.

Additional Information

This is a non-sanctioned outdoor tournament with age and skill divisions in men's and women's doubles, and mixed doubles.

All USAPA 2026 rules will apply, including using only UPA or USAPA approved paddles.

Tournament Format

We intend to offer round-robin play followed by single-elimination medal rounds. The final tournament format, including the number of round-robin games and teams advancing to the medal rounds, will be determined based on the number of registered teams/players in each division.

Round-robin games will be played to 11, win by 2.

Medal-round matches will be 1 game to 15, win by 2.

Gold Medal Match

Best 2 out of 3 games to 11, win by 2

If necessary, a tiebreaker match will be played 1 game to 15, win by 2.

Bronze Medal Match

1 game to 15, win by 2

The tournament director reserves the right to adjust the format as needed based on division size, court availability, weather, and overall tournament flow.

We aim for a minimum of four teams per division, so sign up early to secure your spot!

Medals will be awarded to the top three teams/players in each division.

Tournament Check-In

Players should arrive at least 30 minutes before their scheduled start time to allow time for parking, check-in, warm-up, and tournament announcements.

Specific check-in instructions and schedules will be provided closer to the tournament.

Shirt sizes are subject to availability. Players should register by the designated shirt-order deadline to guarantee shirt size

This is an outdoor tournament. Players should come prepared for changing fall weather and bring appropriate clothing, hydration, sunscreen, and any personal equipment they may need.

Refund Policy

Refund & Weather Policy

Players may withdraw through September 24, 2026 for a refund (less the Pickleball Tournaments.com non-refundable service fee)

After the withdrawal deadline, all tournament fees are non-refundable.

If a partner withdraws, Friendly City Pickleball will make every reasonable effort to help find a replacement, but a replacement is not guaranteed.

Weather Policy

The Friendly City Fall Mountain Classic is an outdoor tournament. Weather may result in delays, schedule or court changes, modified formats, or cancellation.

Friendly City Pickleball will make every reasonable effort to complete the tournament while prioritizing player and staff safety.

If the tournament is canceled before play begins, players will receive a refund of tournament fees paid (less the Pickleball Tournaments.com non-refundable service fee, event fees)

If play has begun and the tournament cannot be completed, refunds or credits will be determined based on the amount of play completed and non-recoverable event expenses.

If the tournament can be completed through delays, rescheduling, or format changes, refunds will not automatically be issued.

Players who choose not to participate because of weather after the tournament proceeds, or who do not show for a scheduled match, are not eligible for a refund.

Weather and schedule updates will be communicated through PickleballTournaments.com and player text notifications.

By registering, players acknowledge that this is an outdoor event and agree to this Refund & Weather Policy.

Player safety comes first, and every reasonable effort will be made to complete the tournament as scheduled.

Health & Safety

Friendly City Pickleball is committed to creating a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive tournament environment. Players are expected to demonstrate good sportsmanship and treat fellow players, officials, volunteers, and venue staff with respect.

Tournament officials reserve the right to address unsafe or inappropriate behavior and, when necessary, remove a participant from play or the event.
