HEALTH AND SAFETY INFORMATION
The health and safety of our players, spectators, volunteers, and tournament staff are a priority. Everyone attending Stacks on the Tracks II is expected to follow tournament instructions, facility rules, and the following safety guidelines.
PLAYER HEALTH AND PARTICIPATION
Pickleball is a physically demanding activity. Participants are responsible for determining whether they are physically able to compete.
Players with a medical condition, recent injury, or other health concern should consult a qualified healthcare professional before participating. Do not compete if doing so could place you or another person at risk.
Participation is voluntary and at each player’s own risk.
HYDRATION AND HEAT SAFETY
Participants should begin hydrating before arriving and continue drinking fluids throughout the tournament. Water and Gatorade will be available for registered players while supplies last, but everyone should bring additional personal hydration.
Players are encouraged to:
Drink fluids regularly, even when they do not feel thirsty.
Use sunscreen and reapply it throughout the day.
Wear appropriate athletic clothing, court shoes, and sun protection.
Rest in a shaded area between matches whenever possible.
Notify tournament staff immediately if they feel dizzy, weak, nauseated, confused, unusually fatigued, or otherwise unwell.
Never attempt to continue playing through symptoms of heat exhaustion or another serious medical condition.
ILLNESS AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE
Please do not attend the tournament if you are experiencing a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, significant respiratory symptoms, or another illness that could affect or expose other participants.
Participants should practice good hygiene, wash or sanitize their hands regularly, avoid sharing personal drink containers, and cover coughs and sneezes.
INJURIES
Any injury occurring during the tournament should be reported to tournament staff immediately.
Players should stop competing if they experience significant pain, difficulty breathing, dizziness, chest discomfort, loss of balance, or signs of a head injury. A player may be removed from competition when tournament staff reasonably believe continued participation presents a safety risk.
Tournament staff may provide basic assistance when available but are not a substitute for licensed medical professionals.
EMERGENCIES
In a life-threatening emergency, call 911 immediately and notify tournament staff.
Do not move an injured person unless they are in immediate danger. Keep the surrounding area clear so emergency responders can reach the individual.
Participants should keep emergency contact information available and inform their partner or a trusted person of any important medical condition, allergy, or medication that emergency personnel may need to know.
COURT SAFETY
To help prevent injuries:
Keep bags, chairs, bottles, and personal belongings away from playing areas and walkways.
Do not enter an active court while a point is being played.
Retrieve loose balls safely and alert nearby players when a ball enters another court.
Wear appropriate nonmarking court shoes with adequate traction.
Avoid running through occupied courts.
Follow all instructions provided by tournament staff and facility representatives.
Report wet surfaces, damaged nets, loose equipment, or other hazards immediately.
WEATHER AND AIR QUALITY
Outdoor play may be delayed, suspended, shortened, relocated, or canceled because of rain, lightning, excessive heat, unsafe air quality, poor court conditions, or another safety concern.
Players and spectators must leave the courts promptly when instructed. Play will resume only when tournament staff and facility representatives determine that conditions are reasonably safe.
MINORS
A parent or legal guardian is responsible for supervising each junior participant throughout the event. Minors may not be left unattended at the facility.
The parent or guardian must provide accurate emergency contact information, disclose relevant medical needs to the appropriate responsible adult, and remain available during the junior participant’s matches.
SPECTATORS AND CHILDREN
Spectators must remain outside active playing areas and keep walkways clear. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children at all times.
Running, horseplay, climbing on equipment, and entering active courts are not permitted.
ALCOHOL, TOBACCO, AND IMPAIRMENT
Participants may not compete while impaired by alcohol, cannabis, illegal substances, or medication that makes athletic participation unsafe.
Smoking, vaping, alcohol use, and controlled substances are subject to Fresno State Pickleball Club and facility rules.
PERSONAL BELONGINGS
Participants and spectators are responsible for securing their own paddles, bags, electronics, wallets, keys, and other belongings. A-Train Tournaments and the facility are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.
SAFETY AUTHORITY
A-Train Tournaments reserves the right to stop play, remove a participant or spectator, or take other reasonable action when behavior or conditions present a health or safety concern.
By registering or attending, each person agrees to follow these health and safety requirements, tournament instructions, and all applicable facility rules.
