The goal of this event is to create divisions where the highest rated team is only .5 higher than the lowest rated team. This will ensure competitive play in the Round Robin and will increase the chances of the Bracket matches going to 3 games.

Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Groups will be created after registration closes. Groups sizes will range from 4 to 21 teams, with the larger groups divided into Pools. All teams will be scheduled for a minimum of 5 games, and if you make the bracket you will play more.

If you DO NOT have a rating or you only have a handful of games and you feel your rating is high/low, please let the Tournament Director know what your rating should be. This will help us put you in the most competitive group for your level.

Bracket Ratings: 3.0 = Under 3.5 / 3.5 = Under 4.0 / 4.0 = Under 4.5. Register for the bracket according to the highest rated Partner.

Example: If the partners are a 3.3 and a 3.7, they should register for 3.5.

No Rating Scenario: If you do not have a rating when you register:

- Please register for the bracket that best fits your current team skill level and contact the tournament director if you have any questions

Tournament Details:

Scoring Format: Traditional (Side out) scoring unless weather/time dictates a need to change formats. TD will make final decision

Minimum Games: Each team will be scheduled for at least 6 games.

Score Tracking: Pickleball Charleston will record All game scores in DUPR.

Based on Ratings: Teams are placed into pools based on their combined team rating (your rating + your partner’s rating).

Event Combining: Depending on the number of teams:

Events may be combined based on skill level or age to ensure a better playing experience.

Players may enter both gender doubles and mixed brackets as start times are on separate days.

Bracket Formation:

Initial Setup: Teams will first compete in a Round Robin format.

Skill Level Adjustments: Skill levels may be mixed during the Round Robin. After this phase, teams will be split into two separate brackets based on their Round Robin standings.

Separate Brackets: Each bracket will have its own winners and medalists.

Bracket Format:

The specific format for each bracket will be determined based on the number of teams and will be provided a week before the event.

First Responder/Civilian “Pro-Am” King of Court:

We will run a NON-REPORTED fun event to give the public the opportunity to play with local First Responders.

24 First responders will be supplied to play with 24 participants in a relaxed and fun “King of the Court”

Event.

KOTC format will be each responder plays with a civilian. The team that wins moves up a court and splits and the losers move down a court and splits. The First Responders will always be paired with a civilian but will get to play with many different partners against varying opponents.

This will be a timed event with 6 rounds of 15 minute games. At the end- whoever is the winner of the top court is the “King of the Court”

This event is separate of the main registration and regular events and can be purchased independently.

100% (KOTC) going back to the charity minus Pickleball.com and stripe fees.

Technology Fee ($5 per bracket is non refundable). Refund deadline is 2 weeks prior to the event; inside the 2 weeks there will NO refunds. Refund equals registration minus $10 admin fee.

This is an outdoor event. If weather or any other unforeseen circumstance occurs PBC will do all it can to play matches. If brackets are in mid play when a weather or unforeseen circumstance occurs the situation will be evaluated on a case by case basis to determine if the bracket may be finished or if winners may be determined.
