General formats (subject to change)
Doubles events will offer a pool-play format. If there are not enough teams for pool play, then a round-robin bracket will be played.
The top-four teams from each division will move forward to the next round.
All pool-play matches will be one game to 11, win by 1 point. Pre-Medal games will be one game to 15, win by 1 point. The medal matches will be best 2-out-of-3. First 2 games will be games to 11, win by 1 point, 3rd game will be game to 11, win by 2 points.
Singles events will offer a double-elimination format.
Players must lose two matches to be eliminated from the tournament. All players will begin in the winners bracket; after a first loss, players move to the consolation (losers) bracket. A second loss results in elimination.
The winners bracket champion will advance to the gold medal match. The consolation bracket champion will also advance to the gold medal match. If the consolation bracket champion defeats the winners bracket champion, a bracket reset will occur, and a final deciding match will be played to determine the gold medal winner. Medal matches will be played to determine gold, silver, and bronze placements. Games are played to 11, win by 2. Medal games are played to 15, win by 2.
For a CONFIRMED spot in doubles event, both partners must be registered and paid. Players without partners or whose partners have not registered and paid within 2 days of their signup, will be moved to the waiting list. Once their partner signs up, they will be moved back into the event - IF THERE ARE SPOTS REMAINING IN THE BRACKET AND THE TOURNAMENT. There will be wait lists available for each bracket for teams and individuals.
USAPA approved paddles only.
All scores will be recorded in DUPR. Make sure you have linked your DUPR account to Pickleballbrackets.com.
