The Pickleball Association of Western Australia are excited to welcome you to the inaugural “Southern River Scramble - 50+ Doubles Champs” in Rockingham!

📅 Day 1: Sunday, 14th September 2025: 50+ Gender doubles

📅 Day 2: Sunday, 21st September 2025: 50+ Mixed Doubles

📍 Venue: Mike Barnett Sports Complex

Mike Barnett Sports Complex offers:

- 12 courts for competitive play. 6 of the 12 courts are pickleball lines only.

- Warm-up courts available.

- Changerooms & toilet facilities.

- On-site café & water fountain – café has a large food selection.

- Ample free parking.

🚨 Sanctioned Event: This tournament is officially sanctioned by Pickleball Australia and will follow the latest USA Pickleball (USAPA) rules. You can review the official rulebook: https://usapickleball.org/what-is-pickleball/official-rules/

Registration Details

- Opens: Thursday, 24th July 2025 @ 8:00 AM (Earlybird Special until 6th August)

- Closes: Saturday, 30th August 2025 @ 8:00 PM

🔹 Players may register for one event per day and must meet the following criteria:

✅ WA residents must be PAWA members

✅ Interstate & International players must be PAA members

✅ All players must have a DUPR account set up in https://www.dupr.com/

✅ All players must have a https://pickleballtournaments.com/ login and profile, If you do not have one go to https://pickleballtournaments.com/ and create one ensuring it contains your contact details, email, and PAA ID number.

Entry Fees

💰 Adults: $50 per player (includes first event); $20 per additional event

💰 Early Bird Saving until 6th August $40 per player.

Game Format & Rules

- Round Robin Matches: 1 game to 15, win by 2

- Finals: 1 game to 15, win by 2

- Players are guaranteed a minimum of three games per event

- Medals will be awarded to Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners in each bracket

Tournament Delays & Late Arrivals

⏳ If you experience an unavoidable delay and may miss your match, please contact the Tournament Director immediately. Schedule adjustments may be considered, but your game could result in a forfeit.

⏰ Players who arrive more than 10 minutes late for their scheduled match may face a forfeiture of that match.

This is not an Australia Rankings (AR) tournament

Skill Levels & Classification:

Players should carefully select their appropriate skill level. The tournament officials, who are familiar with most players, reserve the right to adjust classifications through consultation if needed.

🛑 For doubles events, the team's skill level is determined by the highest-rated player on the team.

Tournament Director’s Discretion

To ensure fairness and smooth tournament operations, the Tournament Director reserves the right to:

✅ Review and adjust player ratings if self-ratings do not align with actual ability.

✅ Move players/teams between skill brackets if an incorrect event is entered.

✅ Merge or split brackets based on registration. Any event with fewer than 3 entries will be combined with another event of similar skill/age.

✅ Modify start times to facilitate a seamless schedule.

✅ Adjust events or schedules due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., fire drills, health restrictions, etc.).

Refunds are available up until the close of registration but will incur a $5 service fee.

No refunds will be offered once registration is closed.
