Get ready for two action-packed days of MLP-style team pickleball at Durhams state of the art pickleball facility, Pickering's Pickleplex Social Club! Bring your team, compete for medals, and experience the excitement, strategy, and camaraderie of team-based play.
Important Notes About DUPR:
-All scores from this event will not be entered into DUPR.
-Ratings will be enforced before the start of the event.
-Each division has a maximum team DUPR.
-Players with multiple DUPR accounts or without a valid DUPR rating (NR not accepted) will not be permitted to play.
-Once a team registers for the tournament, their ratings are “locked” and their DUPR increasing or decreasing will not impact the team’s aggregate or division placement for that specific event.
📅 Event Dates & Divisions
-Saturday, November 29 – DUPR 12 Division
-Doors open: 7:00 AM | Matches start: 8:00 AM
-Team aggregate DUPR must not exceed 12.30
-Maximum individual DUPR: 3.60
-Sunday, November 30 – DUPR 14 Division
-Doors open: 7:00 AM | Matches start: 8:00 AM
-Team aggregate DUPR must not exceed 14.30
-Maximum individual DUPR: 4.10
All players must have a valid DUPR rating.
👥 Team Composition
-Each team consists of 4 primary players – 2 men and 2 women.
-Teams may include up to 2 spares (1 male + 1 female), for a maximum of 6 total players.
-The DUPR cap applies only to the 4 players competing in each match.
-Lineups must be declared before the start of each match and cannot be changed once play begins.
-Only the 4 declared players may participate in that match, including the Dreambreaker if required.
-Spares may not rotate in mid-match or during the Dreambreaker, unless a player is forced to withdraw due to injury.
If a spare substitutes in:
-The new 4-player lineup must still comply with the division’s DUPR limit.
-The injured player cannot return for the remainder of that match or the next scheduled match.
-Teams making unauthorized substitutions will forfeit that match.
🎾 Match Format (MLP Style)
-Each team is guaranteed 3 matches!
-Each team match consists of:
-Women’s Doubles
-Men’s Doubles
-Mixed Doubles #1
-Mixed Doubles #2
-Teams may rotate lineups between matches, but only 4 players (2M / 2F) compete in any single team match.
📝 Format & Scoring
-Round Robin / Pool Play: 8 teams per division, 2 pools of 4
-Top 2 teams from each pool advance to semifinals
-Semifinal winners move to Gold match, runners-up play Bronze match
-Games to 21, win by 2 on your serve
-Rally scoring: points scored on every rally
-Servers remain on fixed sides (appointed by captains)
-Odd score = left side serves
-Even score = right side serves
-Freezes:
-Leading team freezes at 20 (must win on serve)
-Trailing team freezes at 18 (must win on serve to catch up)
-If a match is tied 2–2, a Dreambreaker tiebreaker will determine the winner:
-Race to 15 points, Ralley scoring, win by 2 on your serve, no freezes.
-Players rotate every 3 rallies to maintain balanced play and intensity.
💰 Registration Details
-Team of 4: $75 per player → $300 total
-Team of 5 (includes 1 spare): $325 total
-Team of 6 (includes 2 spares): $350 total
-Registration Deadline: November 24, 2025
