Format
The current International Federation of Pickleball rules will apply.
Players must be 10 years of age or older any time in 2022 in order to compete.
Age brackets: 10-49, 50-59, 60-69. 70+. Your tournament age is the age you will become in 2022. Age brackets will be combined if the number of entries does not support separating brackets by age.
Events will be double elimination with each match being best 2 out of 3 games to 11 on the “A” side of the draw. On the “B” side of the draw each match will consist of one game to 15. Players are guaranteed three games.
Brackets with five teams will play a round robin format
The tournament committee reserves the right to place players in their appropriate skill level category and to combine brackets based on registrations.
Medals will be awarded to the top three teams in each (combined) bracket.
If this is the first time you will participate in a tournament which uses the Pickleball Brackets system, give careful thought to the skill levels you recorded in your Player Profile. These skill levels plus .250 will be the starting point for your tournament rating calculation. To assist with validating the starting point for your tournament ratings, please complete the online Canadian Tournament Player Rating form by copying and pasting this link in a browser window: https://forms.gle/XSQiAnhGDKs3dkLw5
Experienced tournament players are required to enter at the highest of their current Pickleball Brackets tournament rating or UTPR as of the date of registration.
Participants may play up a skill level (.5) or down in age at the discretion of the tournament director.
The tournament committee reserves the right to place players in their appropriate skill level category and to combine brackets based on registrations.
Level 1 Referees will be compensated $5 per match; Level 2 Referees $7 per match; Certified Referees $10 per match. Volunteer referees with the appropriate training are also encouraged to referee, space permitting.
