Outdoor Skill/Age tournament on tennis surface.
3 teams are a double round robin 1-15 win by 2 switch sides at 8 - all teams to playoffs. The top team based on results will have a bye while the bronze match of the 2nd & 3rd place teams play the bronze match 1-15 win by 2. The winner of that goes to play the gold match with the team that was on the bye.
***All gold medal matches are offered a 2/3-11 win by 2 unless the TD needs to make a change due to weather/time issues. We will offer the 1-15 win by 2 as an alternative based on a case-by-case basis***
4 to 7 teams are games 1-15 win by 2 switch at 8. The top four teams move forward to the playoffs. 1 v 4 & 2 v 3: these are the “lead-in” matches that require a referee. Winners play each other for gold. Both non winners play for bronze in the same 1-15 win by 2 switch at 8 format.
8 or more teams are split into pools. The matches depend on the number of teams (see above). Only the top two from each pool move forward. It’s a crisscross playoff. Pool 1 1st team vs Pool 2 2nd team and at the same time Pool 1 2nd team vs Pool 2 1st team. Those games are 1-15 win by 2 switches at 8. Winners play each other for gold. Both non winners play for bronze in the same 1-15 win by 2 switches at 8 formats.
If any division has 15 teams or more, that will likely be broken into 3 or more pools. (The top 2 of each pool moves forward into a playoff pool. The bottom 4 teams play a sudden death round, then move on to play the top 2 teams on the bye)
