USAP Great Plains Diamond Regional Championships are moving back to Monument Valley Park in Colorado Springs. The court surface refurbishment will be complete just in time for the event! OOOPS

Well almost....... With the crazy weather in in Colorado, the construction team is about a week behind. They will complete the project on the 7th. Which pushes our start date to the 8th.

We will be incorporating the Women's Doubles event of the 7th to the Singles event day of the 10th to get all the qualifying in for the events.

The dates are now - July 8 through 13.

All events are round robin or pool play with Medal Rounds.

TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE:

Friday, July 7: Women's Doubles (Skill/Age) – 19+, 30+, 40+, 50+, 55+

Saturday, July 8: Mixed Doubles (Skill/Age) – 19+, 30+, 40+, 50+, 55+

Sunday, July 9: Men's Doubles (Skill/Age) – 19+, 30+, 40+, 50+, 55+

Monday, July 10: Women's Doubles (Skill/Age) – 19+, 30+, 40+, 50+, 55+

All Singles – All Age Groups.

Skill/Age: 19+, 30+, 40+, 50+, 55+, 60+

Age/Skill: 65+, 70+, 75+, 80+, 85+

Tuesday, July 11: Women's Doubles

Skill/Age: 60-64

Age/Skill: 65+, 70+, 75+, 80+, 85+

Wednesday, July 12: Mixed Doubles

Skill/Age: 60-64

Age/Skill: 65+, 70+, 75+, 80+, 85+

Thursday, July 13: Men's Doubles

Skill/Age: 60-64

Age/Skill: 65+, 70+, 75+, 80+, 85+

Players that are registered to play in a 70+, 75+, or 80+ brackets in a Diamond Regional tournament will receive a Diamond Passport to the Diamond Amateur Championships.

Your UTPR skill rating at registration will determine bracket throughout the tournament

Players with a 5.5 or 6.0 UTPR skill rating in any event as of 1/1/2023 are NOT eligible for this tournament

Medals : Brackets may be combined, at our discretion. Medals will be awarded in individual brackets, if combined.

Partner Change Policy:

Any registered player losing a partner should replace that partner with an already registered player before pursuing a player not already registered.

The replacement must be able to play in the same skill/age or age/skill group that you are scheduled to play.

Please note that when looking for a replacement, players may play down in age and up in skill.

Replacements need to be known and communicated to Robin Weaver at rgweaver56@gmail.com.

Any request for replacements coming in after 6 pm the day before you are scheduled to play will be reviewed for approval.

Doubles Events & Singles Events:

Round Robin or Pool Play with Playoffs

4 -6 teams/players will be Round Robin - one game to 15 by 2

7 teams/players will be Round Robin - one game to 11 by 2

8 - 12 teams/ players will be Pool Play - one game to 15 by 2

Playoffs -top four teams advance to playoffs 1 vs 4, 2 vs 3 - one game 15 by 2 except for 7 teams/players, one game to 11 by 2.

Winners to the Gold/Silver match, losing teams/players to the Bronze match.

Medal Matches - best 2 out of 3

The Formats are subject to adjustments as we work within our daily court hours and player registrations.

To further understand the nuances of how tie-breakers will be resolved, please familiarize yourself with USA PIckleball Rules 12.C3. To better understand how withdrawals, retirements and forfeits are treated for scoring purposes, please refer to 12.F. through 12.F.7.b.

Refund Policy

June 23, 2023 - Final date to withdraw and receive a refund (less $25 processing fee)

No Refunds requests will be accepted after June 23, 2023 - but you may apply your event fees to 2024.

All refunds will be processed after July 14, 2023(completion of tournament)

All refunds will be processed prior to July 21, 2022

*** Medical Exceptions - Must be requested by emailed to the Tournament Director for consideration

No refunds or credits if the tournament is impacted by weather

Just a reminder that your bracket begins at 12:15, please arrive 30 minutes prior for daily player check in.

Inclement Weather Policy

This is an outdoor tournament.

No indoor facility is planned for a backup.

Delay will be signified by PA system and text messages. Competition will be postponed if a wet playing surface makes it slippery and unsafe. If possible, we will wait for the surface to dry and resume play. In case of rain: After 60 minutes of stoppage, a decision will be made to whether to continue or cancel events. If events are continued, players will have 30 to return to the courts to restart games once a restart has been announced. In case of lightning: play will be suspended until 30 minutes after the last strike within 6 miles of the courts.
