Description
The Massachusetts Amateur Sports Foundation presents the fifth Bay State Summer Games Skill Level/Age Group Pickleball Tournament.
This is a qualifying event for the 2024 State Games of America Pickleball tournament. The State Games of America are held every two years and include medalists from the other 35 State Games programs across the US. The past State Games Pickleball tournament had over 600 participants from over 27 states.
Registration is open to players of all ages.
Skill levels are 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0

Skill level groups will be split by age groups to create competition events.
A team must play at the skill level of the higher rated player.
The tournament director reserves the right to move players and teams to the appropriate skill levels and can combine or split groups.

Medals will be awarded by the event with the top three teams in each event receiving the appropriate gold, silver, and bronze Bay State Games medal.
For a guaranteed spot in the tournament in doubles and mixed doubles, the second partner will have three days to register after the first partner signs up. If the second partner does not register within that time limit, the team will be moved to the waiting list. Once the second partner registers, the team will be moved back into the event if there are still openings available.
Women's Doubles and Men's Doubles will be held on Saturday, June 29.
Mixed Doubles will be held on Sunday, June 30.
The tournament format is round robin for events with a small number of teams. For events with more than 9 teams, teams will be divided into pools and the top teams in each pool advancing to a playoff round to determine medal winners. A minimum of 4 games is guaranteed per team.

The early bird registration fee of $60 is for one event. ). On May 1, 2024, the entry fee will increase to $70 for one event. On June 1, the entry fee will increase to $85 one event.
The registration fee for a second event is $10 for the entirety of the registration period.
Players can only enter once in each category (doubles and mixed doubles)
The start times listed by events are estimates and are subject to change by the discretion of the tournament director.
*DUPR and Pickleball Brackets currently lack a formal agreement for sharing results. In accordance with the PickleballBrackets.com privacy policy, players and tournament directors are not allowed to submit their tournament results to DUPR until they establish such an agreement.

Refund Policy
THERE ARE NO CASH REFUNDS.
There will be NO REFUNDS of entry fees or purchase of special event tickets because of weather, acts of nature, communicable disease outbreak, or lost/stolen passes/tickets.
The only exceptions to the no-refund policy are:
-Entries received after the entry deadline.
-Entries received after the maximum number of teams/athletes is bracketed, or if there are not enough teams or individuals to form a division.
-Entries of non-qualified entrants.
-Special circumstances determined on an individual basis by the Bay State Games staff
Any athlete removed from a team due to disciplinary reason(s) by a coach, official or Bay State Games representative will not receive any refund of entry or finalist fees.
NO REFUNDS WILL BE PERMITTED SIMPLY BECAUSE AN ATHLETE FAILS TO PARTICIPATE OR IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE.
NO REFUNDS FOR LOST OR STOLEN PASSES OR OTHER EVENT TICKETS.
DEFERRALS:
Event participants may defer their event entry fee to the following year for legitimate medical or medical emergency reasons if corroborated with documentation from a physician which includes producing a doctor's note verifying the illness or injury. Deferral requests will only be considered if received 6 weeks prior to the date of the competition. This deferral can only be used by the original registered athlete. The value of the deferral will be the amount originally paid by the participant to be in the Games less the credit card processing and late fees.
No deferrals or refunds will be granted if requested two weeks before the date of competition.
