This exciting event brings together pickleball enthusiasts of all skill levels for a fun day of competition, community, and purpose. Your participation will directly support the construction of a home for a veteran in James City County. REGISTRATION FEE, PER PLAYER PER EVENT: $30 plus $5 service fee
PLEASE NOTE YOU ARE NOT CONSIDERED REGISTERED UNTIL BOTH PLAYERS REGISTER. YOUR PARTNER HAS 3 DAYS TO REGISTER OR YOU WILL BE PLACED ON THE WAITLIST AND ARE NOT GUARANTEED TO PLAY.
EVENT SCHEDULE:
• Saturday, November 9th, 8am-8pm: Men's and Women’s Doubles
• Sunday, November 10th, 8am-8pm: Mixed Doubles
AGE LIMITS: 12+
SKILL LEVEL DIVISIONS:
• Our brackets are divided into the following skill level divisions.
o 2.0-3.0
o 3.0-3.5
o 3.5-4.0
o 4.0+
• A team must play at the skill level of the higher rated player.
• If you have never played in a tournament, or you just started playing, your skill level is probably 3.0 Skill Level. You can find the USAPA Skill Rating Definitions to help you identify your skill division at https://usapickleball.org/tournaments/tournament-player-ratings/player-skill-rating-definitions/
PARTNERS:
You have 3 days from registration for your partner to register and get added to the event with you. After 3 days, you may be wait listed and may not get back into the event unless/until there is an opening. It is your responsibility to notify your partner.
WAITLIST:
If an event is full both players must sign up to be on the waitlist. Your position on the waitlist is based on the sign up date of the first partner to register.
PLAY FORMAT:
• All event brackets will play a round robin format followed by medal matches.
• Brackets with 8 or more registered teams will be split into pool play followed by pre-medal and medal matches.
• Events with 3 or fewer participants may be combined with another of similar skill level.
• As registration proceeds, tournament management reserves the option to combine brackets as needed if brackets do not fill.
• All matches are self-monitored.
ROUND ROBIN & PRE-MEDAL MATCHES FORMAT:
• Each team will play a single round robin- 1 game to 15pts. Win by 2.
• Ties are broken by:
o Head-to-head matches won
o Point differential in all matches played
o Head-to-head point differential
o Point differential against the next highest team
MEDAL MATCHES FORMAT:
• Gold, silver and bronze medals with be awarded in each event bracket for the top 3 teams.
o Bronze medal match- 2 out of 3 games to 11 pts. Win by 2.
o Gold medal match- 2 out of 3 games to 11 pts. Win by 2.
All events will be played in accordance with USA Pickleball rules and regulations in effect at the time of the tournament. Only equipment approved by USA Pickleball is permitted. Players with unapproved or modified equipment are subject to disqualification. See USA Pickleball website for further information.
Bracket formats (splits, pools, seeding, etc.) are determined at the discretion of the Tournament Director (TD). TD reserves the right modify brackets, including adding teams to any bracket at any time up to the start of the bracket and at the sole discretion of the TD. All start times are subject to change, and events might be merged or split based on event registration.
