2025 Grand Rapids BEER CITY OPEN Pickleball Championships

Registration is scheduled to open on April 10, 2025 and will be a Lottery System again for 2025. Registration will be open from April 10th to April 13th. Lottery results will be announce on or before April 21, 2025.

MLP Mid-Season Tournament is schedule to be played at Belknap Park in conjunction with the 2025 BEER CITY OPEN.

All Amateur Singles matches will be one game to 15, including the medal matches

Amateur Double Elimination Matches will be best 2 of 3 games to 11 in the main draw and one game to 15 for all Opportunity Bracket Matches, including the Bronze Medal Matches.

Round Robin may be used for small brackets if necessary. RR matches may be one game to 15 or another format as determined by the TD.

Senior Pro Events will play a Double Elimination without a come around. USAP calls this format a Single Elimination with Consolation (US Open Format)

Ball - TBD, Dura Fast 40 Neon was used in 2024

You will need to have a partner when registering during the lottery.

****PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY IN MORE THAN ONE AMATEUR SINGLES, DOUBLES AND MIXED DOUBLES EVENT, EVEN IF THEY ARE ON DIFFERENT DAYS. IF IT'S DISCOVERED THAT YOU ARE REGISTERED FOR MORE THAN ONE YOU WILL HAVE TO CHOOSE WHICH ONE YOU WANT TO PLAY!!!****

If you play in a Sr Pro event, you will not be able to play in the same amateur event. If there is space available the TD reserve the right to allow it based upon a players rating and past results.

Saturday, July 12, 2025 - Under 50 Mixed Doubles Day

You may not play in the Amateur MXD 50+ and this event.

Sunday, July 13, 2025 - Under 50 Men's Doubles Day

Men's Doubles, 19+ & 35+, 3.5 - 5.0 skill levels

You may not play in the Amateur MD 50+ and this event.

(You may not play in more than 1 event on the same day)

While we prefer to play all matches outdoors at Belknap Park, we do have an indoor backup facility for Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the Grand Rapids Racquet and Fitness Club. We have lights and will do everything possible to play all matches at Belknap.

The GRRF has the same surface and we will continue to use the same ball if we go indoors.

Belknap Park has 18 courts and the GRRF has up to 20 if we need them, however there may be times that we cannot use all of the courts at GRRF.

INDOOR BACK UP FACILITY - For Friday, Saturday & Sunday's matches ONLY

GRAND RAPIDS RACQUET & FITNESS, 4940 PLAINFIELD AVE NE GR, MI 49525

Leaving Belknap Park – Turn left on Coldbrook, at blinking red light, turn right on Plainfield Ave and go 6.4 miles to 4940 Plainfield, should take about 20 min.

We will not be able to make changes based on changes to ratings after registration date!

There will be a $10 service fee on any refunds to cover administration costs and PayPal fees.

Pickleballbrackets.com charges a Service Fee of $5 per event for Amateurs with a max of $10. This is a PBB fee and is not refundable by the BEER CITY OPEN. Normally the Pro Service Fee is $25/event, but we assume it will be $5 since the Pro Payout is less than $10,000.

All details are subject to change until Registration Opens.

If you lose your partner you will have a short period of time to find a replacement. If you choose not to play with the person you originally registered with, only one of you will be able to fill that spot. One of you will be placed on the waitlist if there is not room in a bracket.

FINAL DATE TO WITHDRAW AND RECEIVE A REFUND IS June 24, 2025

A processing fee of $10.00 will be incurred if you withdraw prior to the withdrawal deadline.

We are not able to refund the Pickleballbrackets.com service fee.

ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS will be issued after the deadline of June 24, 2025

To officially withdraw, send an email to Brandon Schmeling-Registration Coordinator - let him know if you are withdrawing from an event or the entire tournament.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY - If weather is a factor, every effort will be made to play matches outdoors. However we do have an indoor backup facility for Friday, Saturday & Sunday's matches only. Additional Back up facilities may be available. Same surface and same ball. There may be some days/times where the indoor facility has limited capacity. No refunds for cancellations due to weather.
