The Athens Area Realtors is hosting its third annual Paddle Battle on May 16, 2026. It is a community wide event from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm at Jennings Mill. Proceeds will go to Lydia's Place, Mercy Health Center, and Divas Who Win. All registered players will receive a t-shirt (if registered by April 20), complimentary snacks and either a breakfast biscuit or a BBQ lunch. A limited supply of water and Gatorade will also be available. Medals will be awarded to each bracket's winners.
Registration fee is $55 for the first event and $15 for each additional event you sign up for. Pickleball.com adds their own service charge of $5 per additional event registered. (A total of $60 for one event and $80 for two events.)
When registering, you must identify your partner OR request "Need a Partner". If you need a partner, click on "Players Needing a Partner" link on the registration page. You will be provided with contact information for a list of other players needing a partner within the bracket you wish to play. Your spot in the tournament is not guaranteed until both you and your partner have registered, and all fees have been paid in full.
As registration proceeds, tournament management reserves the right to merge brackets based on numbers or break too large brackets into pools by age groups. Each bracket will play a Round Robin format where each team will play one match against every other team in the same bracket. Each match will be one game to 11, win by 2 with 15 minute time limit for each game. If there is a tie at the end of 15 minutes, then the last serving team plays one additional point and the winner of that point wins the game.
After round robin is played for each bracket, the four teams with the most number of wins will move on to a playoff round in which the first and second top scoring teams will play one game to determine gold and silver medal status and the third and fourth top scoring teams will play to determine who wins the bronze medal.
Specific start time for each event will be posted and emailed to players approximately 2 days before the event.
