The Barrington Coast Regional Doubles Tournament is being held on Saturday September 13 and Sunday September 14, 2025 at Wrigley Park, Douglas Street, Taree, NSW.

Registration Opens: Monday June 16 @ 8:00 am

Registration Closes: When a maximum of 160 players is reached, or, on August 22 @ 11.55 pm.

•This tournament will use DUPR ratings, which are higher for the vast majority of players compared with Pickleball Brackets (PAA) ratings. The change to DUPR requires an adjustment upwards in skill levels

Registration Fees:

Registration $50.00 (includes one event). Second Event is $15.00.

- You can play in two events during the tournament but only one event per day.

- Players are guaranteed three matches in an event.

• As this is a small tournament with limited registrations in events, it is recommended that you register early.

WAITLIST:

If you enter before the event is at capacity, you have 7 days to secure a partner and have your partner also enter the tournament. After 7 days if your partner fails to enter or you do not secure a partner, you will be moved to the waitlist.

Teams who have both players enter the event, will be prioritised over a player who fails to secure a partner and these teams will be moved to the main draw first.

It is the responsibility of the participant to source a partner and have them enter to secure the teams position. If the event you want to compete in is already full, you will be placed on the Waiting List. You will be automatically notified if/when you are removed from the Waiting List.

• If registration is closed and you haven't found a partner, the tournament director reserves the right to assign a partner to you. It is best for you to try to connect with other players in similar circumstances.

• This is a Pickleball Australia sanctioned tournament. Global Federation Pickleball rules will be used. These can be found at https://globalpickleballfederation.org/pickleball-rulebook/

• At a minimum, referees will be scheduled for the gold medal matches.

• Wrigley Park is an OUTDOOR venue, so inclement weather may impact on the delivery of this event.

• Images taken at the tournament:

It is a condition of entry that all attendees understand that they may be photographed or filmed at the event and that these images may be stored and used by PAA, PANSW, Hallidays Pickleball Club, or our sponsors on websites, social media and other purposes without express permission or payment.

• Practice sessions: Friday afternoon 12th September 2-5pm; followed by Meet and Greet 5-6:30 pm at the nearby Tennis clubhouse.

• Player Eligibility: -

- Any member of Pickleball Australia can enter (members of Pickleball NSW are automatically members of Pickleball Australia). (Non-registered players can join by registering with Pickleball Australia or their State Association)

- To register for the tournament, you will need Pickleball Brackets login and profile, and a DUPR profile 'linked' to your Pickleball Brackets profile.

- If you do not have a Pickleball Brackets, or Dupr profile, you can create one online for free.

Your profile must contain your contact number, email, PAA ID number and self rating.

DUPR TRANSITION PHASE

• During the current transition phase to DUPR, players can apply to play "down" in a lower skill level, the upper limit of which is no more than 0.25 lower than the player's current DUPR. For example, a player with a rating of 3.74 can apply to play in 3.49 and under. The application must be supported by one of these two conditions (subject to the Tournament Director's discretion):

1. DUPR reliability score of less than 80%

2. No or minimal medals won in the lower skill level events in previous tournaments (or equivalent PAA skill level events).

• Events with less than 4 players/teams will be merged with another event at the discretion of the Tournament Director. All players affected by a merge, will be notified by email.

• Format:

All events will be a Round Robin. Pools with 5 or less teams, will play first to 15 win by 2. Pools which have 6 or more teams, will play first to 11, win by 2.

Events with one pool will play single Medal Rounds (1st & 2nd play for Gold, 3rd & 4th play for Bronze with no semi finals)

Events with two pools will play semi finals and finals.

All Bronze medal and semi final matches will be first to 15, win by 2.

All Gold medal matches will be best of 3 games:

First two games will be first to 11, win by 1. A third deciding game will be first to 11, win by 2.

• Withdrawal before registration closes will result in a full refund, less administration fees.

• General withdrawal after the close of registration, will result in a $10 registration payment being retained to cover costs incurred.

• After registrations close, provision of a medical certificate will ensure a full refund, less administration fees.

• Once draws and times are published, NO refund will be given, except when a medical certificate can be provided.

•Should the event be cancelled due to weather conditions, full refunds will be given less administration fees.
