2024 VIC OPEN offers Singles / Skinny Singles / Gender Doubles / Mixed Doubles - OPEN EVENT, PARAPICKLEBALL & SKILL/AGE DIVISIONS

Singles/Skinny Singles (March 8): Only 1 event can be entered

Gender Doubles (March 9): 1 skill/age event can be entered for the relevant gender doubles.

Mixed Doubles (March 10): 1 skill/age event can be entered for the relevant mixed doubles.

Team Event (March 11): Teams of 4 players - 2 male and 2 female. Gender doubles (x2) and mixed doubles (x2). Rally scoring to 21 (freeze at 20, win by 2). If teams are 2-all after doubles, countback on points.

A total of 4 events can be entered inclusive of one singles event, one age/skill division for gender, one mixed doubles and the teams event (manual entry by emailing events@pickleballvictoria.org with your team of 4).

MAXIMUM EVENTS TO BE ENTERED: 4

Advice on exact times and dates for events will be released once there is clarification on numbers entering. Singles, Doubles and Mixed will each be played on separate days.

What is AR? Australian Ranking (AR) points are available for players who enter into these events. For more information about AR points please go to www.pickleballaus.org/rankings

OPEN EVENTS - Best of three sets in the elimination draw. 1 set to 15 in the consolation draw. Guaranteed one match (best of three) and 1 match to 15.

SKILL/AGE EVENTS - Round Robin with top performers through to single elimination.

Skill and age divisions will be collapsed at the discretion of the tournament committee.

Junior divisions will be structured at the discretion of the tournament committee to best fit the needs of the Junior participants.

BROADCASTING:

Be aware that the Vic Open is a broadcast event.

Matches on the show court will be broadcast with commentary on YouTube.

Background noises will be picked up on the broadcast.

Please be respectful with your comments when watching matches on the show court.

If you do not wish to play in a game that will be broadcast, please send an email opting out to events@pickleballvictoria.org, or inform the volunteers at registration on the day.

General withdrawal after the close of registration will result in a $30 registration payment being retained by PV to cover costs incurred.

Once draws and times are published, NO refund will be given, except when a medical certificate can be provided.
