The Nick Hostler Memorial Tournament is hosted by the Nick Hostler Foundation, Ozarks Pickleball Club, and the Springfield-Greene County Park Board. This will be the seventh tournament where the proceeds are donated to projects and other foundations that provide opportunities and services to the special needs community. Nick was a special education teacher that only saw opportunities, not challenges, for his special friends. He wanted them to be able to experience life to their fullest.

By participating in this tournament, you will be helping these special people get that opportunity. Come join this pickleball family reunion. The tournament will be held at Gillenwaters Tennis Complex. 24 temporary nets on tennis surface. The ball will be the Onix Dura Fast 40.

Cost is only $50 for both days (lunch included!) plus the nonrefundable website service fees. Cost for the Juniors (ages 8-14) brackets is only $25 plus fees. REGISTER NOW and pay by the registration deadline!

Format:

All brackets will be round robin games to 15 win by 1. Some brackets will have medal rounds after the round robin, depending on registration. 4 game minimum per team.

Brackets will be separated by age and then skill level. You may play DOWN in age and/or UP in skill at your discretion. Be sure to register for your preferred age/skill level and check your current Skill Rating on Pickleball Brackets & DUPR. If you do not know what skill level to register for, seek the advice of more experienced players or contact the Tournament Director.

Planned Age Divisions: Juniors 8-15, 15-34, 35+, 50+, 60+, 65+, 70+ (scramble), 75+ (scramble)

Planned Skill Divisions:

2.5-2.99 (beginner/novice)

3.0-3.49 (low intermediate)

3.5-3.99 (intermediate)

4.0-4.49 (high intermediate)

4.5-4.99 (advanced)

5.0+ (advanced+)

Junior brackets will be split into 2.5-3.0 and 3.0-3.5 skill if we receive enough registrations.

Brackets generally will need to have a minimum of 5 teams or else they will be combined with similar skill levels. Some brackets may be combined due to # of registrations at the discretion of the TD.

Nicklepickles (mulligans or replay) may be secured at the tournament site. 1/$5 or 5/$20

Each player is allowed to use 1 per game on any point, Additional information may attained by emailing contact or at the tournament site. This is a fun, added element to the tournament (as well as a major fundraiser) and will make your games very interesting!

Please note that there will be a registration "Service Fee" charged for each registration (Normally $5.00 for 1 event or $10.00 for 2+ events, but will be discounted to $1.50 for USSP certification). This is a non-refundable fee charged by the website.

This is an outdoor tournament so please plan accordingly. In case of inclement weather, we will do everything within our power to get the games in. Schedules will be adjusted. No refunds will be given once the tournament starts. If it should be cancelled prior to tournament start refunds will be given. In that case, we would ask to consider that this is a charity fund raiser for the special needs community and you would allow your entry fee be considered a donation to a very worthy cause.
