Tournament Description

GET HYPE! The BIGGEST tournament in North Louisiana is now OPEN! Hosted by Louisiana Tech University's newest competitive pickleball club sport, we are looking for the most competitive pickleball players as well as members of the community and Ark-La-Tex to play with us! Vendors, sponsors, and local businesses will be there to provide the fun and the energy! Music, food, and drinks will be provided! We have senior adult discounts available upon request as well as special discount codes for college players. Advanced and Open levels will be DUPR rated for the most competitive fun!! We can't wait to see YOU, YOUR FRIENDS, and YOUR FAMILY at LA Tech's INAUGURAL Pickleball Tournament!!!

Additional Information

Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided by some vendors and the Dinkin' Dogs, but players and spectators are encouraged to bring food and drinks. There will be limited seating as well as shade, so players and spectators are also encouraged to bring seats, tents, and other aides to keep hydrated and cool. Though this tournament does not take place on university grounds, the Ruston Sports Complex explicitly prohibits bringing or consuming alcohol on the property. Players or non-players found to have alcohol will be in violation of the Ruston Sport Complex's policy and will be asked to leave regardless of registration status or games played.

Refund Policy

Because all registration funds are used to support the Louisiana Tech Pickleball Team's upcoming season as well as tournament costs, there will be NO REFUNDS given to any players once they have registered. In the case of extreme circumstances, a refund can be requested via email to elizabethautrey434@gmail.com. Refunds are not guaranteed.

Prize Money

All first place players in each division will receive $100/team via cash or check plus a gold medal. 2nd and 3rd place players will receive medals.

Weather

In the case of bad weather, tournament administrators will follow public health and safety protocol in order to keep spectators, players, and equipment safe. Follow updates on Instagram @latechpickleball. Regularly check emails, as well. In the case of rain, the tournament will be delayed until courts can be dried off to ensure adequate play. In the case of a thunderstorm, the tournament will be cancelled and refunds will be distributed to players that REQUEST a refund due to weather within 1 week of the cancellation. Extreme heat and humidity can be expected, so cooling towels as well as water will be provided by the tournament. Any additional cooling devices such as fans or tents can be brought in.

Health & Safety

All players are expected to sign a Release of Liability Waiver as well as a Health Risk Information form upon registration. In the case of a medical emergency, there will be a tournament administrator certified in first aid as well as CPR to deliver emergency medical care on site before the proper emergency services arrive. In the case of an outside or inside physical threat, tournament administrators will immediately notify law enforcement. No weapons such as pocket knives, guns, pepper spray, tasers, or other devices intended for harm are allowed on the property. Non-compliant parties will be reported to the proper authorities and immediately removed from the property regardless of registration status and not allowed re-entry.
