Back2School Scramble
Tournament Description
NOTE: Each student must have their own Pickleball Brackets account to register for the Scramble. (You may be asked for a self-rating; if you do not know this information, please enter 2.0.) This is just the beginning of your pickleball life and your tournaments and leagues will be tracked nationally via Pickleball Brackets!
Join us for an exciting day of pickleball at the Back2School Scramble! This event is open to students aged 10-18 (your age by 12/31/2024). Even better - you don’t need a partner to participate!
What is a Scramble?
In a scramble, you sign-up as an individual player and play as a partner with different people from your pool each game. Stats are calculated for each individual player. Players aged 10-15 will be evaluated based on points; the top scoring player in all matches wins gold; second wins silver; third wins bronze.
After pool play in the 16-18 year-old bracket, the top 8 players will move to a single elimination medal round. For the playoffs, you'll be matched with the player from the other pool who has the same pool ranking as you.
For example: if you're ranked 3rd in Pool 1 after round robin play you'll be partnered with the 3rd ranked player from Pool 2. You will then stay with that partner throughout the medal round.
Early registration for the Scramble is just $20; $30 after August 14.
Don't miss out on the chance to showcase your skills, meet new friends, and enjoy a day of competitive pickleball. Partial scholarships are available; contact us at info@southernpickleballacademy.org for more information.
Note: We are anticipating three age brackets: 10-13 year olds; 14-15 year olds, and 16-18 year olds.
Brackets will be based on number of players who sign up for the tournament. Only the 16-18 year-old bracket will have an officiated medal playoffs.
