The 16th Annual Royal Oak Classic is one of the longest-running pickleball tournaments in Southeast Michigan, continuing a strong tradition of competitive and community-driven play.
Owned and operated by SMPA, this year’s event has partnered with Bash Pickleball Club, the largest indoor pickleball facility in Michigan, to elevate the tournament experience to a new level.
The event is expected to draw 500+ players over 3 full days of pickleball, running from 8:00 AM Friday through late Sunday, offering a full weekend of high-level play.
With Kevin Brikho, Owner of Bash Pickleball Club, serving as Tournament Director, players can expect a well-organized and competitive tournament experience.
The tournament will feature a pool play format with playoffs, with all teams guaranteed a minimum of 3 games to 11, win by 2, with a goal of providing 4 or more games whenever possible. Top teams from each pool will advance to a single-elimination playoff bracket to compete for the championship. Brackets may be adjusted based on registration to ensure a competitive and efficient tournament experience.
Ball Type:
The Franklin X-40 will be used for all divisions. The Open divisions will use the LT ball.
All brackets and playoff formats are subject to change based on registration, court availability, and tournament conditions. Matches impacted by withdrawals, no-shows, or forfeits will still count as completed matches, as these situations are outside of tournament control.
