Welcome to the Battle of the Paddles - the first annual edition! The Battle of the Paddles will be played at McCollum Park in Downers Grove, IL. McCollum Park is a 50-acre facility, featuring trails, mini-golf, horseshoes, volleyball, and a sprayground for families. Located only 20 miles from downtown Chicago, your options of off court activities are limited only by your imagination!

The Battle of the Paddles Tournament will feature all manner of Pickleball - Doubles, Mixed Doubles, and Singles. Also, on Friday, a team competition. All divisions will be played as Round Robin, with the Top 4 teams from each Division advancing to the Single Elimination Playoffs. The matches will come fast and furious, so be ready for a day of fun competition and play.

Friday will feature Singles. Men's, Women's, both full court, as well as Mini-Singles. All Singles will be played rally scoring. Saturday will be Doubles Day, Men's & Women's. All matches will be games to 15, with the Gold Medal matches played 2/3 to 11. Sunday will be Mixed Doubles, and again, all matches will be games to 15, with the Gold Medal match 2/3 to 11.

Also on Friday is the MiLP style Team Competition. Entry for this event is here: https://swishtournaments.com/product/battle-of-the-paddles/, and is a separate entry fee from the rest of the tournament. Gather the best players from your local club and come represent for the pride of your club! Teams consist of 4 members - 2 ladies, 2 gents - and are played as a round robin. Each round consists of 4 games to 21, rally scoring, 2 doubles, and 2 mixed. If the 2 teams are tied at the end of a round, then they go to a tie breaker - a single game of singles, with all 4 players rotating every 4 rallies. The top 4 teams from each division advance to the playoffs. Limited to 6 teams per skill division, enter soon to get your spot!

Daily Tournament Schedule: 8:00 am start time, however not all divisions will start at 8:00 am. Look for final start time schedule on Tuesday, May 13th

Tournament Fee Breakdown (each player must register and pay separately)

- Registration Fee, including your first event - $75 (Beginning Monday April 11th, 2025 the registration fee will be $90)

- Event Fee, after your first included event - $15

- PB Brackets Service Fee (we have no control over this) - $5-10

We will not have the exact bracket start times until after registration closes.

DUPR ratings will be used to determine bracket placements. Scores will be uploaded to DUPR.

Bracket Formats

3 teams/players (only if necessary, we will try to combine any 3 team/player divisions with the closest age division possible)

- Double-RR, games 1 to 15

- Top 2 teams advanced to Gold Medal match, 2/3 to 11 win by 2

- 3rd place team automatically receives Bronze medal

4 team bracket

- Single-RR, games 1 to 15

- Semi-final (all 4 teams) - 1 to 15

- Bronze - 1 to 15

- Gold - 2/3 to 11

5-7 team bracket

- Single-RR, games 1 to 15

- Semi-final (top 4 teams) - 1 to 15

- Bronze - 1 to 15

- Gold - 2/3 to 11

8-12 team bracket

- 2 pools, Single-RR, games 1 to 15

- Semi-final (top 2 teams from each pool) - 1 to 15

- Bronze - 1 to 15

- Gold - 2/3 to 11

13+ team bracket

- 3 pools, Single-RR, games 1 to 15

- Semi-final (top 2 teams from each pool) - 1 to 15

- Bronze - 1 to 15

- Gold - 2/3 to 11

Skills may be combined at the Tournament Directors discretion. Format is subject to change at anytime.

If a bracket is unable to finish due to weather and enough matches have been played to determine placements, we will use approved USAP rules to determine placements.

USAP rules will be followed.

Amateur players may withdraw for a refund up to 72 hours before their bracket plays. Only registration and event fees will be refunded - we will not refund the "processing fee" that is charged by PickleballBrackets.com. We will not charge any additional refund/withdrawal processing fees!

All events are outdoor events. If weather or any other unforeseen circumstance occurs, we will do all we can to play matches. If brackets are in mid-play when a weather or unforeseen circumstance occurs, the situation will be evaluated to determine if the bracket may be finished or if winners may be determined. If we are able to start your event (even if we do not finish it), a refund will not be given. If we are unable to start your event, you will receive a refund for that event (You will only be refunded the event fee(s) - not your full registration fee, unless it is your only event).
