The California Pickleball Classic is an annual high-quality pickleball tournament for all ages and abilities. We strive to produce a well-rounded, inclusive event without large registration fees. $10,000 in prize money is at stake for the open divisions hosted to highlight the talented pickleball players of California. At the same time, amateur competitors enjoy complimentary player gifts from our sponsors and many refereed matches on their road through the tournament bracket, with medals for the winners. This tournament is hosted at a spacious, full-service venue with an on-site restaurant and clubhouse amenities. Each year with the help of our many corporate sponsors, we are able to host raffles, giveaways, and numerous vendors. Starting in May, numerous Moneyball tournaments for high-level amateurs are produced leading up to the California Pickleball Classic to create a California pickleball spectacle. Proceeds of these events benefit the Fresno State Pickleball Club.

USAP Rules will be followed. Only USAP-approved paddles will be used

Friday Nov. 1. All new Open Singles Division! (2:00 pm start approx.)

Saturday Nov 2. Men's/Women's Doubles (8:00 am start approx.)

Sunday Nov 3. Mixed Doubles (9:00 am start approx.)

Open divisions start at the same time on their respective days.

3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, and Open Division will be offered.

8+, 40+, and 55+ Age brackets will be hosted for all levels except the COED Open Division.

Format:

Amateur: Round Robin with playoffs. Round robin: Games to 15 win by 1. Playoffs: 2/3 Games to 11 win by 2. Number of rounds in amateur divisions will be determined by number of registrants. Tiebreaks will be determined first by wins/losses, then head-to-head, then by point differential.

Double Elimination Format (Open Division)

Main Bracket: 2 out of 3 Games to 11 win by 2

Consolation Bracket: 1 game to 15 win by 2

The event has the right to shorten match formats if the weather poses scheduling delays.

If events do not fill up, brackets may be combined at the Tournament Director's discretion.

Full refunds will be given minus a $10 processing fee and $5 non-refundable service fee per event up until the 25th of October.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

This is an outdoor event. If weather or any other unforeseen circumstance occurs, we will do all we can to play matches. If brackets are in mid-play when a weather or unforeseen circumstance occurs the situation will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis to determine if the bracket may be finished or if winners may be determined.

We will always try to wait out the weather and play. Rarely will we ever cancel an event.

Participants are required to sign a facility waiver before participation in event.
