The Charleston Rangers return on January 25th with a full-day, indoor MoneyBall tournament at the brand-new Pickle Rage facility in North Charleston — featuring nonstop round-robin action, championship-level formats, and Charleston’s signature Swamp Fox spirit.

This event is designed for maximum play and zero downtime, utilizing a proven 6-court block schedule that ensures no overlapping brackets, allowing players to compete in multiple divisions (coed, men's, mixed doubles, and singles) without conflicts.

🔥 DUPR REQUIREMENT – READ BEFORE REGISTERING

All match results will be officially reported to DUPR. Players must register ONLY their primary DUPR account with verified matching names/profiles.

🚫 No phantom and/or ghost accounts with zero and/or minimal match history

🚫 No duplicate profiles

🚫 No fake or alternate accounts

If you can’t log into your primary DUPR account, you must resolve it with DUPR support before the event.

Using an incorrect profile may result in zero refunds, disqualification, and reported (0-15 or 0-21) results.

🔧 PADDLE CHECK-IN POLICY (MANDATORY)

All paddles inside the player's bag must be verified and approved at check-in.

✔ Accepted Paddle Approval Sources:

• USAP Approved Paddle List

• UPA-A (United Pickleball Association – Approved)

Players must bring:

1. Current government photo ID,

2. A print-out of the paddle approval listing showing your paddle model,

3. Be prepared for staff to verify your paddle against official online lists.

❌ Absolutely NOT allowed:

• Sandbagging, any appearance of sandbagging = ZERO MoneyBall Prize(s)

• Delaminated paddles

• Altered/modified surfaces

• Cracked or fatigued paddles

• Unapproved prototypes

• “Training mode” or “tweaked” paddles

• Anything failing the sound test or surface inspection

Any paddle failing inspection will not be allowed for match use. No exceptions! This protects players, ensures fair play, and supports the integrity of DUPR-verified results.

Refund Policy

💵 Charleston Rangers Moneyball – Refund Policy (Updated)

1️⃣ Refund Deadline

The final day to request a refund is January 20, 2025. Refund requests must be submitted in writing (email or message). After January 20th: ❌ No refunds will be issued for any reason.

This includes but is not limited to:

• Injuries

• Scheduling conflicts

• Weather concerns

• Travel delays

• Illness

• Team changes

• DUPR rating changes

2️⃣ Stripe CC ($5-$10) & Registration ($10-$20) Fees Are Non-Refundable **

All refunds issued before Jan 20 will be: Tournament Fees Only ($40 - $100)

Tournament processing fees (Stripe CC & Registration Fees) cannot be refunded under any circumstances.

3️⃣ Weather / Venue / Emergency Policy

This is an indoor event at Pickle Rage. However, if extreme circumstances require modification of the event: The Tournament Director reserves the right to:

• Shorten matches

• Reduce the number of games

• Modify scoring format

• Condense/Merge brackets

• Delay start times

• Cancel specific divisions

• End the event early

If the event is shortened or modified: ❌ No refunds will be issued. The goal will always be to complete as much tournament play as safely possible.

4️⃣ Player Substitutions (Allowed Only Before Jan 20)

A player may be replaced by a partner of the same DUPR rating category before January 20 at no additional charge.

After January 20:

• ❌ No substitutions

• ❌ No partner changes

• ❌ No team swaps

This prevents bracket disruption and protects DUPR integrity.

5️⃣ Cancellations by Tournament Staff

In the rare event that Charleston Rangers must cancel the entire tournament (e.g., facility closure, emergency):

Players will receive a partial refund, minus unavoidable fixed expenses already incurred. This does not apply to shortened or modified events — only full cancellation.

6️⃣ No-Show = Forfeit, No Refund

Players who fail to appear for their scheduled block or do not check in on time: Forfeit all matches + no refund.

7️⃣ Agreement Required

By registering, all players acknowledge and agree to the full Charleston Rangers Refund Policy, Health & Safety Policy, and DUPR + Paddle Compliance Requirements.

The Charleston Rangers are committed to providing a safe, fair, and athlete-focused event environment.

All participants, spectators, and staff must adhere to the following Health & Safety standards:

1️⃣ Active Medical Coverage Required

All players must have active medical insurance on the day of the tournament. By registering, players acknowledge they are personally responsible for any medical emergencies, injuries, or healthcare needs that occur before, during, or after competition.

The tournament staff, venue, and event organizers are not liable for:

• Injuries sustained during play

• Medical conditions triggered or aggravated during the event

• Emergency medical treatment or transportation

• Lost playing time due to injury

Players must compete at their own risk.

2️⃣ Personal Health Responsibility

All players are responsible for arriving in proper physical condition to compete safely.

You may not participate if you:

• Have an active injury or condition that limits safe play

• Are advised by a doctor not to compete

• Are recovering from surgery without clearance

• Exhibit symptoms of contagious illness

Tournament staff may remove players from play if their condition poses a safety risk to themselves or others.

3️⃣ Hydration, Nutrition & Recovery

Players are encouraged to:

• Perform mobility & flexibility and/or dynamic warm-up exercises before/during/after competition

• Hydrate continuously throughout the day

• Bring electrolytes, snacks, and recovery aids

• Take breaks between blocks

• Wear appropriate shoes and clothing for safe movement

• Warm up properly before matches

• Stretch and cool down after play

4️⃣ Heat, Fatigue & Overuse Awareness

Even in an indoor facility, dehydration and fatigue can become issues. Players entering multiple divisions must manage workload responsibly.

If a player appears:

• Excessively fatigued

• Dizzy

• Unstable

• Injured or compromised

Event staff may temporarily pause play or request a medical evaluation.

5️⃣ Emergency Procedures

• Pickle Rage North Charleston has restrooms, water stations, and first-aid supplies.

• 911 will be contacted immediately for any serious injury or medical situation.

• Players must immediately notify staff of any incident on or off the court.

6️⃣ Acknowledgment of Risk (Required at Registration)

By entering this event, players confirm they understand and assume all risks associated with pickleball competition, including:

• Sprains, strains, collisions, falls

• Hand/wrist/ankle injuries

• Joint overuse

• Heat stress or dehydration

• Unexpected accidents

All entries require acceptance of the full Liability Waiver & Safety Agreement during registration.
