Please know that no outdoor pickleball tournament will offer refunds due to cancellation after registration closes or for weather cancellations. That includes this tournament. If you do not want to accept this full risk, this insurance policy is being provided to you by the tournament directors of this tournament to reduce that risk. Going without insurance means you accept the full risks associated with weather cancellation and other risks after registration closes. This policy is one of the best being offered for a major pickleball tournament (please check around) at a very modest price. This policy can only be purchased at the time of registration.
INSURANCE COST:
• $10 per player
COVERED:
• If the event is cancelled by weather, we will return 80% of the initial discounted registration price. (Insurance cannot be purchased after registration nor 14 days prior to the event. This means 80% of the registration price offered on day 1 that this tournament was posted, not the actual price you paid.)
This policy covers:
Weather-related cancellations: This is for full cancellation of the tournament related to weather and does not include weather delays, reduced games, or cancellation after the event started. This policy will guarantee 80% of the discounted registration will be returned back to you excluding pickleballtournaments.com fee and insurance fee.
NOT COVERED:
• We will not honor insurance purchased with registration 14 days or less than the start of the event, even if it is still being offered on the site. We will be required only to return your insurance amount.
• Player/Partner that did not purchase insurance during registration
• Combining age brackets or levels of brackets or disagreement of how the tournament is being run.
• Shortened games or format change & delay due to weather. Tournament Director have full authority to change the format to fit the situation.
• Injury during the tournament
• Disqualification from tournament
• Forfeit for any reason or No show.
TO SUBMIT an Insurance CLAIM:
1. For Part 1 of the insurance, the after registration & 72 hours prior to registration: You must make an immediate claim before 72 hours prior to the start of the first day of the tournament by emailing both to the tournament director & email to brucemazzoni@zoominternet.net , that you must drop out for the above reason listed and must submit the documented information within 7 days after the tournament. We will need all necessary documents scanned and sent to us prior to 7 days after the tournament. The insurance company will disqualify the claim if they do not get the documents within one week after the tournament.
2. For weather cancellation: You will have 7 days after the tournament to make the claim by emailing. brucemazzoni@zoominternet.net to qualify both for the minimum “event” distribution plus any additional money from the pool distribution. After 7 days until 14 days you will only qualify to get back the “event” fee only and will have missed out on the pool distribution. After 14 days you no longer qualify to make a claim
IMPORTANT: The insurance company or the tournament committee will not contact you if you have a right to an insurance claim. It is your full responsibility to make the claim within the times listed above to the contacts listed in this document. If you follow the above procedures listed, you will get you claim processed within 2-3 weeks after the tournament.
