Player registration is by skill and age level. An additional $10 event & $5 setup fee will be charged above the base registration fee for each event. Player skill levels will be assigned using the following priority: World Pickleball Rating (WPR), PickleballBrackets tournament rating (PBR), Michiana Pickleball Club Rating, or Self Rating. Some players have been blocked from registering from their desired event by inconsistent WPR & PBR ratings. In an effort to minimize this type of problem, players are allowed to play up a full level if desired. For example, a player with a 3.0 rating can register for a 4.0 event.
For the U35, U50, & U60 events, after registration is complete, age levels may be adjusted based on number of registered players. If 9 or more teams register in an age level, the age level will be split into pools. If an event has 4 teams, matches will be best 2 of 3 games to 11. With 5+ teams, matches will be 1 game to 15. If pools are used, a playoff among the top 3 or 4 players will be used to determine the medal winners.
We are scheduling separate 60+, 65+, 70+, & 75+ events with the goal of increasing participation from the senior pickleball population. The format will be the same as above except that an event with only 3 teams will play a double round robin of 1 game to 15. If fewer than 3 teams register for an event, we may combine age levels in the 60 and above events after contacting teams in the affected events and offering them the option to withdraw. If age levels are combined, we plan to award medals within each of the original age levels.
If your designated partner has not registered within 7 days, you will be moved to the wait list. If you register needing a partner and have not found a partner within 7 days, you will be moved to the wait list.
Michiana Pickleball Club members are eligible for a $5 discount on their registration. In order to receive the discount, you must have clicked the 'Clubs' menu in PickleballBrackets to find the club, and selected 'Become a Member' in order to activate your membership.
