Tournament team will make every effort to complete all matches. However, adjustments and/or cancellations may be necessary. Players are guaranteed 3 matches.
Start time of the tournament is 8:00AM. Start time of each individual bracket will be determined 3 days before the day of the tourney.
It is strongly recommended that registrants keep the entire day available for this tournament.
If the event is rained out, the event will be cancelled and players will be refunded (minus the service fee).
Skill levels:
3.5 and under
3.5-4.0
4.0+
Age levels: 14-49, 50+
In order to facilitate fair play in all divisions, we will be looking at all players' DUPR ratings. Teams will be asked to move brackets if they are not eligible for the one they registered for. The rules are as follows:
- Individual player DUPR cap: 3.5 and under: cannot have a DUPR over 3.75; 3.5-4.0: cannot have a DUPR over 4.25; 4.0+: no maximum
- Combined team DUPR cap: 3.5 and under: cannot have a combined DUPR over 7.1; 3.5-4.0: cannot have a combined DUPR over 8.1; 4.0+: no maximum
If a player has no rating, we will assume their DUPR is 3.5 if playing the 3.5 and under bracket and 4.0 if playing 3.5-4.0 when calculating the combined DUPR. A team can play any bracket higher than their DUPR ratings. We will use DUPR ratings as of February 1, 2025. There will be no exceptions made.
This event is round robin.
Formats for round robin brackets will be either:
Matches of 2 out of 3, game to 11, win by 2, or first to 15, or
Each match 1 game to 11, win by 2, or first to 15, or
Each match 1 game to 15, win by 2, or first to 18
Round Robin results will be determined following the USA Pickleball Rule book:
12.C.3. Round Robin. All players or teams play each other. Games may use any of the approved tournament scoring options. (See Rule 12.B.) The winner is determined based on number of matches won.
If two or more teams are tied:
12.C.3.a. First tie-breaker: head-to-head matches won.
12.C.3.b. Second tie-breaker: point differential of all games played. (e.g., Team A won Match 1 11-8, 11-4, so they would have a point differential of +10. Team A then wins the second match 11-9, 2-11, 11-6. For this round, they would have a point differential of -2. This would give them a total for the day of +8.)
12.C.3.c. Third tie-breaker: head-to-head point differential.
12.C.3.d. Fourth tie-breaker: point differential against next-highest team. (e.g., If the teams are tied for second, use point differentials against the first-place team.)
Referees will not be provided in any round robin matches.
If a round robin bracket is split into 2 groups:
Each group of teams will play each other in 1 game to 15, win by 2, or first to 21.
The top 2 finishers in each group will move on to a playoff. Each first place finisher of a group will play the second place finisher in the other group, 1 game to 15, win by 2, or first to 21. The winners of the playoff games will play each other in a gold match, and the losers of the playoff games will play each other for the bronze medal, either best 2 out of 3, game to 11, win by 2 or first to 15, OR 1 game to 15, win by 2 or first to 21
Combined Brackets:
If brackets are combined, they will be combined by skill level first, then age.
Medals will only be awarded to the top 3 finishers in a combined skill/age bracket, not to each individual skill/age bracket.
Games will be uploaded to DUPR.
