The Freddy Beach Open is a three day event taking place in the newly named Volvo Cars New Brunswick Tennis Center, previously known as the Abony Family Tennis Center.
DATE:
July 3 to July 5
REGISTRATION AND EVENT FEES:
- Registration $68.20 (plus Pickleball Tournament service fee)
- Additional events: $13.20 (plus Pickleball Tournament service fee)
Note: Pickleball Tournament is an American company, the service fee charge is based on the exchange rate of that day and can therefore vary per person.
PAYMENT:
Once registered, email transfer payment to freddybeachopen@gmail.com
Registration is considered complete when both players are registered and payments have been received for both players. If payment is not made within 7 days, you will be moved to the waitlist.
LOCATION: Volvo Cars New Brunswick (Previously known as “The Abony”)
COURTS: 11 courts
DUPR ratings will be updated with results of this tournament.
BRACKETS:
The Brackets will depend on the number of registrants, changes may be made to either the skills bracket or age brackets, this will only be done to manage registration numbers and time allocation.
There must be at least four teams registered in a bracket for that bracket to run.
We will start with the following for Men & Women’s Doubles, then Mixed :
COMPETITION SCHEDULE:
Friday – Men’s and women’s 3.0 brackets and perhaps other brackets depending on number of registrants.
Saturday Men and Women’s Doubles – staggered start times
Sunday Mixed Doubles – staggered start times
PLAYERS MUST CHECK DETAILS THE DAY BEFORE THEY PLAY AS START TIMES MAY CHANGE.
FORMAT: (this may change if registration is not full, potentially allowing for more teams to move to playoffs)
- Round Robin games to 11 win by at least 2 – four (4) games guaranteed. If there are less than 6 teams in a bracket games are to 15 win by at least 2.
- At least four teams advance to play-offs. (If there are two pools the top two teams in each pool advance)
- Pre-medal Game is single elimination.
- Pre-medal and play-off games are to 15 win by at least 2.
- Bronze medal games are to 15 win by at least 2, Gold medal games are best of three.
TEAMS:
- Maximum of 8 teams per bracket - more may be added depending on registration in other brackets
- A minimum of 4 teams per bracket or pool.
- Waitlist available for additional players should bracket size change or players withdraw.
OFFICIATING:
Officials for all medal games and some round robin games.
ADJUSTMENTS:
The organizing committee reserves the right to modify brackets based on registration numbers.
FOOD:
There are only snacks available on-site, therefore players are encouraged to bring their lunches.
NOTE: ONLY CLEAR DRINKS ARE ALLOWED ON THE COURTS.
BALL:
Franklin Sports' X-40 Pickleball will be used.
