Welcome to the 2022 GPA Pickleball Athlete Play in May One Day Mixed Doubles Tournament. The tournament will be held at Shaw Park in Marietta GA. Shaw Park features 8 dedicated pickleball courts with the potential to add 7 temporary pickleball courts if needed. This is a Georgia Pickleball Association Sanctioned Tournament. This is a ONE DAY, MIXED DOUBLES ONLY TOURNAMENT.

All Georgia Pickleball Association members will also receive a $10 discount on all future GPA sanctioned tournaments. The GPA annual membership fee is $25. GPA membership allows players to play in all GPA sanctioned tournaments and leagues. GPA will maintain GPA ratings and GPA rankings for all players. GPA membership is required to play in the GPA State Tournament. GPA strongly encourages all players to also become members of USA Pickleball and to support your local pickleball club.

This tournament counts toward qualification for the GPA State Tournament.

The registration fee for this tournament is $45 ($35 for GPA Members), This is a Mixed Doubles Only Event.

Format is round robin.

Brackets of 3 teams: Double Round Robin. Each match will be one game to 15, win by 2.

Brackets of 4 to 7 teams: Round Robin with initial matches used for seeding. Top two teams play for gold. Third and fourth seed play for bronze.

Brackets of 8 or more teams: Teams split into pool play for Round Robin. Top Teams (# of teams determined by size of each pool) advance to single elimination medal rounds.

All Entries who register before May 1st will receive a FREE T-Shirt. $5 Fee for sizes XXL, XXXL, and XXXXL.

Cancellation deadline is 9pm April 15th , 2022. No refunds for any reason after that date. Cancellations prior to that date are subject to a $10 administration fee. Your spot in the tournament is not guaranteed until your partner has registered and all fees have been paid in full.

If the tournament is cancelled due to COVID restrictions or directives from government authorities, we will refund your registration fees less any prorated incurred expenses.

If the tournament is cancelled due to weather prior to the start of an event, we will refund your registration fees less $20 to cover already incurred expenses.

If an event has STARTED and is cancelled due to weather there will be no refunds. We will make every effort to complete any event that has been started. Tournament Director reserves the right to change format, shorten games, or make any other changes they feel will help complete the event.

Players who do not show up for their event and fail to notify the tournament director prior OR leave the event without notifying the tournament director after it has started are subject to a $25 fine. The fine must be paid before registering for any other GPA events.
