All round-robin games will be one game to 11 points, winning by 2 points. A team must play at the skill level of the higher-rated player and the age group of the younger player. All players MUST register with an indicated partner BY NAME. Your spot in the tournament is not guaranteed until your partner has registered and all fees have been paid in full. Southern Pickleball Academy is not responsible for ensuring every player has a partner.
The Tournament Director (TD) and Committee reserve the right to modify the format of any bracket, division, or level as necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the event. They also have the authority to change any policies as needed. This adaptability is essential for responding to unforeseen circumstances and for enhancing the tournament experience for all participants.
To note: player skill levels are subject to adjustment based on past performance. When ratings update between your registration and the tournament and your ratings go to the next higher skill level, you will be notified of the change, then moved to that bracket by the tournament administrator.
The tournament ball is the yellow Selkirk Pro S1: https://www.selkirk.com/collections/pro-s1-pickleballs. The Tournament Director will require players wearing clothing that matches the ball color to change to a more appropriately colored shirt.
Specific timing will depend on registration numbers and is subject to change. Our priority is to allow the most teams possible into each category while minimizing bye times to ensure an enjoyable and competitive experience for all participants. Warm-ups are not guaranteed. Players must check in at least 30 minutes before their scheduled event. Events may begin early if courts are available.
Eye protection is HIGHLY ENCOURAGED. A limited supply of Kitchen Blockers lensless eyewear will be available for loan.
This is a DUPR-rated tournament. Players must register according to their current DUPR rating. Playing up is allowed; playing down is not. The Tournament Director may review and adjust player registrations to ensure fair competition.
