Tournament Info:

This non-sanctioned tournament. There will be Skill & Age Divisions in Men's and Women's Singles, Men's and Women's Doubles, and Mixed Doubles.

Age Divisions: 12+, 35+, 50+, 60+

(minimum age to participate is 12; please contact us for exceptions)

Skill Divisions: 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5

$5 There is a non-refundable PickleballBrackets.com software use fee of $5 for each event.

Event fees are $10 per event for all Skill & Age events. There will also be a Pickleball Brackets non-refundable service fee of $5 per event or a maximum of $10 when registering for 2 or more events.

For doubles events, priority will be given to teams that have both partners registered and paid. To secure your spot in a doubles bracket, please make sure that both you and your partner are registered and paid within 3 days.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

Skill Levels: 3.0 - 4.5+

Age Brackets12+, 35+, 50+, 60+. 17 and under can register for 18+ age bracket.

Rules & Format:

This is not a USAP sanctioned event; however, all USAP rules will apply.

All Skill & Age brackets will be Round Robin with Pre-Medal round and Medal Matches to be played immediately following the completion of Round Robin play.

Round Robin and Pre-Medal matches will be 1 game to 15 win by 2 or 1 game to 11 win by 2 depending on the size of the bracket and/or pools. Gold and Bronze Medal matches will be best 2/3 games to 11 win by 2.

There is JUNIOR OPEN DIVISION that wil be played on Sunday. This is for ages 12-17 and any gender (boy's doubles team, girl's doubles team, or boy/girl doubles team) can team up to play together.

Ball:

• Lime Green Franklin X-40 outdoor ball. Per the updated 2023 USA Pickleball rules, please do not wear predominately lime green apparel or you will be asked to change

Medals will be awarded to the top 3 teams/players in each bracket.

The Tournament Director reserves the right to merge brackets when there is an insufficient number of players within a bracket to make for meaningful play. The Tournament Director also reserves the right to change the format should circumstances, such as adverse weather conditions, necessitate expediency.

This is an outdoor tournament with no back-up dates. Thus, each registrant assumes the risk that adverse weather could create scheduling delays, abbreviated play, or event cancelation.

There is a no-refund policy for weather.

The wait is over, DUPR is finally here! The rating used for this tournament will be DUPR and all match scores and results will be automatically entered into DUPR. Please be sure to connect your DUPR account to your Pickleball Brackets account to ensure reporting accuracy.

LOCATION:

This tournament will be held at the pickleball courts in Kiln Creek Golf Club and Resort in Newport News, Va. There will be 12 courts with a combination of six dedicated pickleball courts and six temporary courts using temporary Deluxe Pickle Net System.

There is plenty of space for the best views of all the courts. Chairs are permitted outside the courts. There are benches inside the courts for players only.

This event is an outdoor event.

Each player assumes the risk that inclement weather may force tournament cancellation.

The Cancellation Deadline is Sunday 12/01/24. Full refunds less the Pickleball Brackets non-refundable service fees will be given through this date. After this date, NO refunds will be given for any reason.

We will make every effort to play to the best of our ability in varying weather conditions. In the event of inclement weather, such as heavy rain, thunderstorms, or other dangerous conditions, the safety of our participants will remain our top priority.

Please be advised that there are no backup plans or alternate dates for the tournament. In the unfortunate event that the tournament is canceled due to weather, entry fees are non-refundable.

Again, each player assumes the risk that inclement weather may force tournament cancellation.

To ensure a safe event, we encourage participants to:

• Follow all posted rules and instructions from event personnel.

• Stay hydrated.

• Wear appropriate athletic gear (dress for the weather), including proper footwear, to prevent injury.

• Warm up before playing, stretch before/after to minimize muscle strain.

• If you feel unwell or sustain an injury, please alert event staff immediately.

While we will take reasonable precautions to maintain a safe environment, by participating in this event, attendees acknowledge that they do so at their own risk. Kiln Creek Golf and Resort, Kiln Creek HOA, CAMOHANA event organizers, sponsors, and volunteers are not liable for any injuries, accidents, or illnesses that may occur before, during, or after the event. We strongly encourage all participants to consult with their healthcare provider before engaging in physical activity, particularly if they have pre-existing medical conditions.
