This doubles tournament is being held to open the indoor season for pickleball at the YNCU Curling Centre. There will be 8 courts for use. Each game will be played on a roll out court laid over a level concrete floor. The nets are professional grade mobile nets.
This will be a DUPR tournament. A DUPR account will be required. If you do not already have one it can be set up for free at https://www.dupr.com. All scores will be submitted to DUPR.
The skill levels for the tournament will be Junior, Recreational, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5.
Each skill level will have the following events, men's, women's and mixed.
The Junior skill level will be for ages 12 to 18. The other skill levels will also have age divisions of 19 to 59 and 60+.
Each event will consist of round robin pool play with pool sizes from 4 to 7 teams. Each round robin game will be scored using side out scoring, to either 11 or 15 win by one. The score will depend on the size of the pool.
The top 4 teams from each pool will advance to the playoffs. The semi-finals will be one game to 15 win by 2. The bronze game will be one game to 15 win by 2. The gold/silver game will be best 2 games out of 3. Each game will be scored to 11 win by 2 capped at 17.
This tournament is set up for the players to enter the scores on a cellphone immediately after completion. This will require at least one player on each team to have a cellphone on the court logged into their Pickleball Tournaments profile. Court and game assignments will also be automated and will appear on your cellphone.
The ball used for the tournament will be the Selkirk Pro S1.
The tournament director reserves the right to cancel or combine events.
