Tournament Description
All Medicine Hat Pickleball Club members are invited to play some games, enjoy the fellowship of
competition, and honor the memory of a much loved member of our pickleball community, Karen Cook.
The Karen Cook Memorial Tournament is June 10 and 11, 2023 at the South Country Co-op Pickleball Courts.
Karen’s brother, Darcy Haaf, says that the idea of establishing a memorial tournament came to
him while Karen was nearing the end of her cancer battle. So many of Karen’s pickleball
friends (her second family) approached Darcy ,saying that they wanted to do something for
Karen, to remember the joy and inspiration she brought to the courts.
So..in the spirit that Karen lived her life - taking what came her way, never giving up, and always
having a positive point of view, “Let’s go play some pickleball!”
