Christmas in July Charity Pickleball Tournament

Help us spread some holiday cheer to local families in need!

Join us for a fun-filled pickleball tournament with proceeds going towards providing Christmas for less fortunate families in Licking County. A portion of the proceeds will also go toward Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.

Tournament Details:

Date: Saturday, July 19th: Men's Double, Women's Doubles & Mixed Doubles

Location: 936 Sharon Valley Road, Newark, OH 43055

Tournament Format: USA Pickleball Association Official Tournament Rules Apply. (Even though this is not a sanctioned event)

Men's Doubles:

4.0 Skill Level (8 Teams Max) - Top 3 finishers earn Gold, Silver, Bronze medals.

3.5 Skill Level (8 Teams Max) - Top 3 finishers earn Gold, Silver, Bronze medals.

3.0 Skill Level (8 Teams Max) - Top 3 finishers earn Gold, Silver, Bronze medals.

Women's Doubles:

4.0 Skill Level (8 Teams Max) - Top 3 finishers earn Gold, Silver, Bronze medals.

3.5 Skill Level (8 Teams Max) - Top 3 finishers earn Gold, Silver, Bronze medals.

3.0 Skill Level (8 Teams Max) - Top 3 finishers earn Gold, Silver, Bronze medals.

Mixed Doubles:

4.0 Skill Level (8 Teams Max) - Top 3 finishers earn Gold, Silver, Bronze medals.

3.5 Skill Level (8 Teams Max) - Top 3 finishers earn Gold, Silver, Bronze medals.

3.0 Skill Level (8 Teams Max) - Top 3 finishers earn Gold, Silver, Bronze medals.

General Tournament Rules:

Tournament Format

Official Rules

All matches will follow USA Pickleball Rules.

Round Robin play only for all groups unless otherwise announced.

No medal rounds – standings will be determined solely by Round Robin results.

Match Play

Pools of 7–8 Teams:

Games played to 11 points, win by 1.

Pools of 4–5 Teams:

Games played to 15 points, win by 1.

Ranking & Tiebreakers

Final standings will be determined by:

Win/Loss Record

First tie-breaker:

Head-to-head matches won

Second tie-breaker:

Point differential of all games played

Third tie-breaker:

Head-to-head point differential

Fourth tie-breaker:

Point differential against next-highest team

Side Change:

Matches to 11: switch at 6 points.

Matches to 15: switch at 8 points.

Timeouts: 2 one-minute timeouts per game per team.

Serve or Side Choice: Determined by a 1 or 2 behind the paddle.

Court Assignments: Play only on your assigned court unless authorized by the Tournament Director.

Food Trucks: Enjoy delicious food and refreshments from a variety of food trucks.

Community Event: This is a fun event for the whole family! Spectators are welcome.

Any withdrawals before registration closes on July 12, 2024, will incur $10 processing fee. Pickleballbracket services are non-refundable.

Withdrawals after registration closes on July 10, 2024, no refunds will be processed. Thank you for your contribution to our charity.

Rain or Shine Information:

We want this to be a fun event for everyone, but we understand that Ohio weather can be unpredictable. Here's what you need to know in case of rain:

Primary Date: July 19th

Rain Date: The following weekend, July 26th

We will closely monitor the weather forecast and announce any changes by July 18th.

In the case of rain on both our original and rain dates:

If we are unable to secure an indoor venue, the event will be unfortunately cancelled.

Your registration fee will then be considered a donation to support providing Christmas for local families in need.

No refunds will be issued.

We appreciate your understanding and flexibility. We're committed to making this a successful event, rain or shine!
