The 10th Anniversary Low Country Pickleball Classic in Hardeeville, SC presented by Hilton Head Lexus & Novant Health will be held on April 4 (Women), 5 (Mixed), and 6 (Men). The tournament is hosted by the Sun City Hilton Head Pickleball Club.

The tournament is open to all Sun City Hilton Head residents and all non-residents 50 and older. Skill levels are 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5+.

Registration opens on January 14th at 8am, however, Sun City Pickleball Club members will receive an access code to pre-register beginning January 13th at 8am.

Format. All events will be round robin with most events having six or seven teams. Six and seven team round robins will play one game to 15, win by 2, against each of the other teams. Five team round robins will play one game to 21, with a 4-5 minute break after one team reaches 11 points, against each of the other teams.

Age Groups. The age groups established for registration are tentative. The age groups will be adjusted after registrations are made to form events with the appropriate number of teams. Players may play down in younger age groups.

Start Times. Event start times will be 8:00 AM, 11:15 AM (plus or minus 30 minutes), or 2:30 PM (plus or minus 30 minutes). All events are scheduled to be completed in about 3 to 3.5 hours.

Shirts. All players registered and paid by March 1 will receive a tournament shirt.

Medals. Medals will be awarded to first, second, and third place teams in each event. An additional gift will be provided to first place winners.

Ratings. The ratings used for registration will be DUPR Ratings, then self rating. If you do not have a DUPR Rating, please be sure that your self rating is accurate. Please be sure that your DUPR account is connected to your Pickleball Brackets. If a player plays in two events the difference in skill level between the two events can be no greater than 0.5. Tournament Director reserves the right to move players from events entered to events deemed more appropriate by their rating.

Practice Courts. The North courts will be blocked off for open play for residents and tournament players from 1:00 to 10:00 PM on Thursday April 3. And the North courts will be available for open play for residents and tournament players after completion of tournament play on Friday, April 4 and Saturday, April 5.

Food - North Courts. Water and snacks will be available for the players. A food truck will be available during lunch hours in the North courts parking lot each of the three days of the tournament. Also, the Argent Lakes restaurant (AL's) adjacent to the North courts will be open from noon to 8:00 PM on Friday and Saturday. (AL's is always closed on Sunday)

Food - South Courts. We plan to use the South courts only on Saturday. Water and snacks will be available for players but there will not be a food truck at the South courts. The Softball Club, however, will be selling very good hot dogs and drinks at very reasonable prices at the softball field, which is next to the South pickleball courts.

Thursday Night 10th Anniversary Celebration. Please join us and help celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Low Country Pickleball Classic in Hardeeville, presented in 2025 by Hilton Head Lexus & Novant Health on Thursday April 3 at 6pm in the Sun City Hilton Pavilion with a Low Country Boil and social event. The catered dinner from Toomer’s Bluffton Oyster Co. and cash bar (beer & wine) is a ticketed event for players, Sun City Pickleball Club members and guests with a cost of $25 per ticket which includes lots of shrimp, sausage, potatoes, corn on the cob, cornbread and soft drinks. Tickets can be purchased with your tournament registration or by contacting Steve Lerner, Tournament Director and must be purchased by March 7, there is a limit of 150 tickets available.

Cost. The registration fee for the 2025 tournament is $60 plus $10 for a second event. Payment is via Stripe, which accepts credit cards.

For a CONFIRMED spot in an event, both partners must be registered and paid. Players without partners and players with partners who have not registered and paid within 5 days of their signup will be moved to the Waiting List. Once their partner signs up the team will be moved back into the event - IF THERE ARE SPOTS REMAINING IN THE EVENT AND THE TOURNAMENT.

Venues. All matches on Friday and Sunday, and most matches on Saturday, are scheduled for the 12 North courts located within the Sun City Hilton Head (SCHH) community at:

On Saturday, when the MXD events are played, SCHH's 6 South courts will be used in addition to the 12 North courts.

Entering Sun City Hilton Head. Non residents must enter SCHH through one of the two attended gates off of U.S. 278, also called Fording Island Road. Tell the attendant you are playing in the pickleball tournament.

If you are going to the North courts, enter SCHH through the attended gate on the north side of U.S. 278. If you are going to the South courts enter SCHH through the attended gate on the south side of U.S. 278.

The South courts are about 4 miles away from the North courts. To get to the South courts, enter SCHH through the attended gate on the south side of 278. After passing the gate go straight at the first four stop signs. About three miles from the gate and after passing under power lines take the first left into the parking lot. If there are no spaces do not park on the grass. Instead go to the Softball Field parking lot at 831 Red Dam Road. Park and walk around the home plate side of the softball field to the pickleball courts.

(Depending on the direction from which you approach Sun City, your GPS may take you to an unattended gate through which a Sun City resident, with an RFID decal may enter, but non-residents cannot.)

Players will receive a full refund if they pay and do not get into an event. Players who get into an event and withdraw by March 30 will be refunded the amount paid, less a $20 fee. No refunds for cancellations after March 30.

We do not have an indoor backup facility if the matches cannot be completed because of weather or other reasons. We will make every effort to complete the events if there is a rain delay by playing into the evening on our lighted North courts and by using our South courts. There are no refunds, however, if the events cannot be completed.
