Description
Welcome to 2023 Southern Pickleball's Magic City Challenge. The Tournament will be played at the Timrod Park at 400 Timrod Park Drive in Florence, SC 29501
Registration fee is $40 and includes one event. An additional event is $10.
Register by February 9th to get a tournament t-shirt. Registration closes on June 6, 2023.
The schedule is as follows:
Saturday June 10th, Men's & Womens Doubles
Sunday June 11th, Mixed Doubles.
Competition each day will begin as early as 8:30 AM. Specific start times for each event will be posted and emailed to players approximately 3 days prior to the event.
Format is Round Robin. Your team will play one match against every other team in your bracket. All games will be win by 2.
Brackets of 3 teams: Double Round Robin. Each match will be one game to 15.
Brackets of 4 teams: Seeding Round Robin with games to 11 followed by elimination bracket with matches 2 out of 3 games to 11.
Brackets of 5 teams: Each match will be one game to 15. Top 4 teams move to medal rounds.
Brackets of 6 and 7 teams: Each match will be one game to 11. Top 4 teams move to medal rounds.
Brackets of more than 8 teams may be split into pools.
As registration proceeds, tournament management reserves the option to combine brackets as needed if brackets do not fill. If brackets are combined to create playable brackets, awards may be based on the original division and not the combined bracket. Brackets will be combined by age if possible to avoid combining skills. Tournament management also reserves the right to convert brackets to double elimination if necessary.
Skills levels include 2.5 (Recreational),3.0, 3.5, 4.0
Age groups are 15+, 35+, 50+, 60+

Additional Information
Southern Pickleball Association (SPA) members receive a $10 discount on registration for this event and all other SPA sanctioned tournaments. The SPA registration fee is an annual $25 fee. SPA will maintain SPA ratings and SPA rankings for all players. SPA strongly encourages all players to also become members of USA Pickleball. This tournament counts toward qualification for the SPA State Tournament. For players that are not already SPA members, the SPA membership fee can be paid when registering for the event. Players can check their ratings at PickleballBrackets.com. Simply go to club section, then click on Southern Pickleball Association.

Refund Policy
Cancellation deadline is 9pm June 1st , 2023. No refunds for any reason after that date. Cancellations prior to that date are subject to a $15 administration fee. SPA membership purchases are non refundable.
If the tournament is cancelled due to COVID restrictions or directives from government authorities, we will credit your registration fees less any prorated incurred expenses toward a future SPA tournament.
This is an outdoor tournament. There are no refunds for weather related cancellations unless a player has purchased tournament cancellation insurance.
If an event has STARTED and is cancelled due to weather there will be no refunds or credits. We will make every effort to complete any event that has been started. Tournament Director reserves the right to change format, shorten games, or make any other changes they feel will help complete the event.
ALL REFUNDS will be sent after the tournament is completed.
