Thank you for joining us in this NON-qualifying year for the National Senior Games. Our goal is to continue to improve the player experience as Pickleball experiences massive growth and is one of the largest events hosted by the Maryland Senior Olympics. We will again have three skill levels (3.0 and below, 3.5, and 4.0 and above). In addition, we will be hosting the event at two Dill Dinker locations with dedicated indoor Pickleball facilities (Columbia and Finksburg). However, despite access to 24 indoor courts, the events tend to fill up quickly, and with more skill levels, there are fewer spots available for each event. If you are thinking of playing, sign up as soon as possible. But if you miss out, be sure to sign up for the waitlist, as many events will likely be expanded as we get closer to the event date. We look forward to seeing you on the courts.

Some changes to this years registration: Your partner will need to have an account (free) with PickleballBrackets.com (PBB) before you can select them during the registration process. If they are not registered on PPB, you can register without a partner to hold your spot. Your partner, once they have an account, can select you as their partner during registration. You will have 14 days for your partner to register (and pay) to hold your spot.

- Your Tournament Directors

Out-of-state registration opens 2/3/25 at 8am. Maryland residents can register with an out-of-state partner. On 2/3/25, registration will be open to players who live outside of Maryland. Please be sure to have your partner register as soon as possible because teams in which both partners are NOT registered are moved to the waitlist 14 days after the initial partner registered for an event.

Your age is based on your age on 12/31/25.

Your partner must have a profile on PickleballBrackets.com to select them as a partner. Their rating must match the event you intend to play (or lower) and their age must match the event (or be higher). One player for each age and skill level must match that event (ie both players can not be older than an event age group or under the listed skill level).

Division I: 4.0 & above - initially, one player must be rated at 4.0 or above; (we will open this up to all skill levels after ~one month)

Division II: 3.5 - open to all skill levels rated under 4.0

Division III: 3.0 and below (this can include players rated up to 3.49)

Round Robin Pool Play (divisions / age groups may be combined for play, placement will still be within each division). Tournament Director has the right to make changes to format, adjust age brackets, or other items if needed.

The fee is $50 which includes one event, each additional event is $5. You will also pay the pickleball brackets administrative fee of $5 for one event and $10 for two or more events.

• From January 22 - February 2, pickleball registration is open for Maryland residents only;

• Starting February 3, pickleball registration is open for everyone ages 50 and above, starting at 8 a.m.;

• MSO pickleball registration closes May 2 at 11:55 p.m., or when capacity is reached;

• Any registered player not linked to a registered partner within 14 days of their initial registration will automatically be moved to the waiting list. If you are on the waitlist, and if space is available when your partner registers, you will be moved back into the event automatically prior to registration closing. The waitlist is displayed in alphabetical order, BUT, events are filled from the waitlist based on the date both players are fully registered.

• Once registration closes, there is no guaranty that you will be able to swap partners. If your partner drops out, and there is a team/player on the waitlist that is fully paid, they will be moved into the event.

This is a Non-qualifying year for National Senior Olympics.

Registration for all other MSO events is separate and will open early spring, link through our website.

* We will be playing indoors at two Dill Dinker facilities (Finksburg, MD and Columbia, MD).

* Each day, the events will be split between the two facilities. On the day of your event, all of your events for that day will be at the same venue.

* If you are playing in multiple events, it is possible you could be at different venues on different days.

* We plan to split the venues by gender and age groups for all doubles events. For singles events we plan to split the venues by gender.

* At this time, no decision has been made as to what events will be played at either venue.

* The split will be dependent on registrations.

* The tournament directors reserve the right to modify events and schedule as needed to accommodate play within the time available to complete the event. This includes, but is not limited to, merging age groups, merging skill levels, adjusting the number of games played, game score to be played, etc.

Refunds (less a $15 processing fee) must be requested in writing no later than May 2, two weeks prior to the tournament starting on May 16. No refunds will be issued after that date. If you register and pay for a partnered event without a partner and get moved to the waitlist, you will only receive a refund for the event if you request it by May 2.

In the event of rescheduling, the Maryland Senior Olympics Commission will maintain a flexible policy on refunds if you cannot participate on the rescheduled date.

Once registration closes, there is no guaranty that you will be able to swap partners. If your partner drops out, and there is a team/player on the waitlist that is fully paid, they will be moved into the event.
