Midwest Food Bank Georgia
As a faith-based organization, it is the mission of Midwest Food Bank to share the love of Christ by alleviating hunger and malnutrition throughout the world and providing disaster relief; all without discrimination. Our vision is to provide industry-leading food relief to those in need.
Midwest Food Bank Georgia addresses the immense amount of food waste in our country and the significant number of our population experiencing food insecurity. We do so by utilizing volunteers to rescue food while partnering with nonprofits to provide for the hungry at zero cost to those serving the individuals and families in need of help. Our program to provide a source of zero cost food begins by connecting with food donors such as food manufacturers, food distribution centers, and grocery stores who donate food that has been produced in excess, incorrectly labeled, slightly damaged but usable, and more. Once the donated food stuffs are obtained, MFB Georgia utilizes over 4,000 volunteers a year to inventory, process, package, and distribute the food to our more than 230 non-profit agency partners across the Southeastern United States. Midwest Food Bank Georgia is on track to distribute over $31 million dollars’ worth of food in 2023.
