This fundraiser tournament will be supporting the Newport News Police Foundation. The Newport News Police Foundation's mission is to provide critical resource to the Newport News Police Department that allows the Department to acquire new technologies and equipment, provide programs for young people, and community outreach, and to enhance Department morale and education, all of which make Newport News a safer place to live, work, and play, and raise a family.

All proceeds raised will stay local and support the Newport News Police Department and the community.

NNPF sponsors many youth programs - this summer we are hosting Ladies First, Camp Community Connection, and Drone Camp. Each of these camps allow the youth to connect with our Police Department personnel, working on self-esteem issues, conflict resolution, leadership, and learning about the Drone unit.

Let us not forget our retired K9s - When the K9s retire from the department the handler is solely responsible for all vet bills. With your support it allows NNPF to provide relief to the vet bills for handler.

Rules & Format:

This is a Mixed Doubles event only.

This is not a USAP sanctioned event; however, all USAP rules will apply.

All Skill & Age brackets will be Round Robin with a Single Elimination bracket round and/or Medal Matches to be played immediately following the completion of Round Robin play.

Round Robin matches will be 1 game to 15 win by 2 or 1 game to 11 win by 2 depending on the size of the bracket and/or pools. Gold and Bronze Medal matches will be best 2/3 games to 11 win by 2.

Skill and age divisions are as follows:

Skill 3.0: Age Divisions: 12-49, 50+

Skill 3.5: Age Divisions: 12-49, 50+, 60+

Skill 4.0: Age Divisions: All Ages

Cost to play:

$60 Registration fee ($60 TOTAL PER TEAM)

$5 pickleball Bracket fee per event

Ball:

• Lime Green Franklin X-40 outdoor ball. Per the updated 2023 USA Pickleball rules, please do not wear predominately lime green apparel or you will be asked to change

Medals will be awarded to the top 3 teams/players in each bracket.

Tournament Director reserves the right to make any changes at any time for any reason. Also, the director reserve right to limit numbers in each event and combine ages in events that do not have enough teams.

LOCATION:

This tournament will be held in the courts at Kiln Creek Golf Club and Resort in Newport News, Va. There will be 12 courts with a combination of six dedicated pickleball courts and six temporary courts using temporary Deluxe Pickle Net System.

There is plenty of space for the best views of all the courts. Chairs are permitted outside the courts. There are benches alongside the courts for players only.
