Welcome to the annual Morning Pointe - Pickleball for a Purpose Scholarship Showdown tournament! This tournament is played at Pickleball 706 in Calhoun GA on 8 dedicated indoor pickleball courts.

The schedule is as follows:

Saturday (October 25) - Men’s & Women’s Doubles -begin at 8 am

Saturday (October 25)- Mixed Doubles - Following Men's & Women's Doubles but not before 1 pm

Competition will begin as early as 8:00am. Specific start times for each event will be posted and emailed to players approximately 4 days prior to the event.

The registration cost is $45 and includes 1 event. Each additional event is $15. All registered players will be receiving a swag bag & a T-Shirt.

As registration proceeds, tournament management reserves the option to combine brackets, as needed, if brackets do not fill. If brackets are combined to create playable brackets, medals will be awarded based on the combined brackets. Tournament management also reserves the right to convert brackets to double elimination if necessary.

Skill levels include: 3.0; 3.5; 4.0; 4.5+

A team must play at the skill level of the higher rated player (or higher) and the age group of the younger player. Age is calculated as of 12/31/2025.

Ratings - DUPR ratings will be used. Tournament Director reserves the right to move a player to a higher/lower level at their discretion.

You may register and identify your partner or request “Need Partner”. Your partner must register within five days of your registration or the team will be moved to the wait list. NOTE - your spot in the tournament is not guaranteed until both you and your partner have registered and all fees have been paid in full.

There are no referees. Matches are self-monitored. If a referee is requested, we’ll do our best to provide a volunteer.

On October 21st, the tournament staff will move up players whose DUPR ratings have changed since registering for this tournament. Players with DUPR reliability rating of 50 or lower may appeal their current rating.

Pickleball 706 adheres to the guidelines set forth in the USA Pickleball Rulebook. All gameplay, officiating, and judgment decisions during our event will be based on these rules to ensure consistency and fairness for all players.

We encourage all participants to familiarize themselves with the USA Pickleball Rulebook to understand standards and expectations that govern our games. In addition we’ll only allow paddles that are on the official USA pickleball paddle list (USAP) as well as the certified paddles on the UPA-A paddle list. Use of a non-approved or banned paddles will result in forfeits for all events and removal from the tournament.

Withdraw deadline is October 21 at midnight. Players may withdraw prior to midnight on October 21st for any reason and receive a refund minus a $20 administrative fee. After October 21st there are NO refunds for any reason.

Additionally, player registration fees may not be transferred to other players.

Indoor Courts - Perfect playing conditions year round.

It is the players responsibility to hydrate, bring any food/drink that is needed/required. We also highly recommend warming up before matches and performing stretches post matches to lower the risk of injury.
