All open 4.0 and Above events are Double Elimination as well as the 50+ 4.0 and above Singles (only).
Double elimination will start with all games best of 3 to 11, win by two, with the loser bracket to be 1 game to 15 win by two. If you go into the losers bracket, the best you can get is Bronze. Once you lose two games, you are out of that event.
All other events are Round Robin with Single Elimination. Minimum of 3 games guaranteed.
Open 4.0 and above events require ALL participants to have a rating above 4.0. This is managed and all ratings used to determine event eligibility will be from DUPR. Once the event reaches capacity, the highest ranked players will have priority. You may be bumped to B grade if the event reaches capacity and you are the lowest ranked team(s).
There are B and C events in Open and 50+ has a B Grade. B Grade = 4.0 and Below, C Grade = 3.5 and below. You can play up but you cannot play down a grade. Event categories are clear when registering.
50+ 4.0 and Above events require all participants to be above 3.5. We have allowed a 0.5 difference in this category for sign up. This will encourage those on the cusp of 4.0 to enter in the higher skilled division. To clarify, you can be 3.5 and above to enter in the 50+ 4.0 and above event. 50+ also has a B Grade which is classed at 4.0 and below.
*Prize money will be awarded. All divisions will receive medals.
*Registration costs increase on 1st September 2024.
*DUPR will be used to check ratings of players for bracket eligibility.
*Events may be merged if less than 4 participating individuals/teams.
