EVENT FORMATS
All events will be played using a Round Robin format. The top two performers from each pool (four if one pool) will go through to a single elimination pre-medal knock out draw. Winners of the semi finals will compete in the Gold medal match and semi final losers will compete in the bronze medal match. Medals will be awarded for the top 3 teams per event.
Singles, Gender Doubles and Mixed Doubles will use the traditional scoring method and the below game formats:
First to 15, win by 2 [5 or less players/teams in the pool]
First to 11, win by 2, [6 or more players/teams in the pool]
Pre- Medal (semi finals & quarterfinals), first to 15, win by 2.
Medal matches will be best of 3 games, first to 11, win by 2.
Skinny Singles will use the rally scoring method and the below game formats:
First to 21, win by 2 [5 or less players/teams in the pool]
First to 15, win by 2, [6 or more players/teams in the pool]
Pre- Medal (semi finals & quarterfinals), first to 21, win by 2.
Medal matches will be best of 3 games, first to 15, win by 2.
COURT ALLOCATION AND RESULT ENTRY
This tournament will be using text messaging service for match & court allocation and digital scoresheets. Please ensure your Pickleball.com profile is up to date prior to the tournament. On tournament day don't forget to sign in at the desk and bring your phone and reading glasses to read your text messages and enter your results.
EVENT DETAILS
The venue has permanent taped indoor courts and Yellow Onix Indoor balls will be used.
A selection of vendors will be available for all your nutrition and hydration needs each day.
Warm-Up Courts will be available each day for the athletes participating in the events. Please make sure all players are given an opportunity to use these facilities.
Parking for the event is using the main carpark of the Ballina Indoor Sports Centre with alternate parking on Cherry Street, or via Burnet Street as an overflow. Parking may be limited so please allow plenty of time to find a park before your event.

It is a condition of entry that all attendees understand that they may be photographed or filmed at the event and that these images may be stored and used by PAA, NRPC or our sponsors on websites, social media and other purposes without express permission or payment.
LIVE STREAMING - Dylan Kimlin Commentary will be on-site from Thu-Sat.
Live video and audio of matches will be recorded and broadcast online. Recording equipment at matches may record your image, voice and other identifying features. Please observe appropriate standards of behaviour, conduct and language in or around the live streaming devices, whose presence will be marked by signage at the match. Non-commentated streaming will be available on the Sunday.
TEAMS EVENT
Entry can be selected via tournament registration and will take place on Thu 6 Aug.
Format: Single registration for each player interested in participating. Teams of four players will then be selected by the tournament team, evenly spread based on DUPR skill level /Gender/ Age.
Teams of four will play doubles “dream breaker” style, rally scoring to 21, with no freeze at 20.

WELCOME SOCIAL EVENT
A welcome social event at the Ballina RSL will be arranged for all members on the Thursday night. This welcome event is open to all tournament players to socialise and meet their partners (if required). The finer details will be coordinated closer to the event.
