Welcome to the NSW Open Pickleball Tournament on 14, 15 & 16 April, 2023 at Abbotsleigh.
Registration Opens: 1 March at 8:00am (Eastern Daylight time)
Registration Closes: 25 March at midnight (Eastern Daylight time)
This is a Pickleball Australia SANCTIONED tournament. It will use the current International Pickleball rules. They can be found at:
IFP Official Rules of PickleballSpecific details are listed below:
- Entry Fee: $65.00/player. Second and third events are $15.00 each.
- Events will start with round robins (game to 11 win by 2) and move to elimination (game to 15 win by 2). Medal matches are best 2 out of three - first two are first to 11 with the last being 11 win by 2.
- You can play in three events during the tournament but all events need to be in a different category e.g. Mixed Doubles, Gender Doubles or Singles.
- All players rated 4.0+ are encouraged to enter Open events.
- Players registered for an event for their age group cannot also play in the Opens; e.g. registered to play Men's Doubles 35 to 49 years (3.5 +) cannot also play in the Men's Doubles Opens.
- Players are guaranteed three games per event.
- Medals will be awarded to gold, silver and bronze winning competitors for each bracket.
- Friday is for Seniors (65+ years) events.
- Saturday is for Singles and Mixed doubles for 8 years to 64 years. Seniors can play down into lower age events.
- Sunday is for gender doubles for 8 years to 64 years. Seniors can play down into lower age events.
- Players of an older age can enter a lower age group event.
- Players at a lower rating can enter a higher rated event.
- When you enter the tournament to register, you will be shown the events you are eligible to register for.
