The NSW Pickleball Championships is the premier pickleball event in NSW. The 3 day tournament will held at the Blacktown Leisure Centre, Stanhope Gardens from Saturday 12 April to Monday 14 April. Any member of Pickleball Australia - including Pickleball NSW - can enter. This is designated as a Tier 3 tournament, where players can gain Australian Ranking (AR) points, by entering specific events, signified by (AR) under the event title.
Blacktown Leisure Centre is a huge modern venue which will boast 25 outdoor pickleball courts and 16 indoor courts. This amazing centre offers a free car park, a café, indoor aquatic centre and many other facilities. It is located next to Stanhope Gardens shopping centre and no more than a 45 minute drive from almost anywhere in Sydney.
The headline schedule of events will be:
Saturday 12 April: Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles,
Sunday 13 April: Mixed Doubles, Para doubles & Hybrid doubles
Monday 14 April: Singles, Skinny Singles, Para singles
Registration is $80 which includes entry into one event. Each additional event costs $20. Players can enter a maximum of 3 events - one per day - unless they enter in hybrid doubles events (in which a disabled player teams up with a non-disabled player), in which case they can enter 4 events. PLAYER RATINGS
This tournament uses Pickleball Australia (PAA) Pickleball Brackets ratings NOT DUPR ratings.
FINDING YOUR PAA RATING
1. Go to pickleballtournments.com
2. Search for your name under "players"
3. On your profile (which shows your DUPR ratings), click "clubs"
4. Click PAA and search for your name again.
5. On your PAA profile you will find your (well hidden) PAA ratings.
6. You can change your ratings until you play your first tournament.
Players with disabilities are encouraged to enter mainstream events (with minor rule modifications) in addition to para and/or hybrid events.
Registrations for all events close on 23 March. LATE ENTRIES ARE NOT POSSIBLE.
