Tournament Format:

This tournament is a Round Robin format.

If there are 10 teams:

In the first round (depending on the amount of teams in each bracket), there will multiple groups. Teams will play (1 game to 11 points win by 2pts) against every other team in the group.

The top 2 seeds in each group will play each additional game (1 game to 15pts win by 2pts) in the playoffs to earn a chance at being on the podium for a top placement. Teams that do not qualify as a top 2 team in their group will play 1 additional consultation game (1 game to 11pts win by 2).

If there are 9 or less teams:

Each team will play against all of the other teams in each bracket (1 game to 11pts win by 2pts). The top 4 teams will play in a bracket playoff format. The winners will go to Gold Medal Match and the losers will go to the Bronze Medal Match. The playoffs will be 1 game to 15pts win by 2pts.

SATURDAY EVENING AT 6PM, THERE WILL BE AN OPEN INVITE ONLY MONEYBALL WITH HIGH LEVEL PLAY. WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU STICK AROUND, HANG OUT AND WATCH SOME OF THE PROFESSIONAL PICKLEBALL ACTION!

Payment and Partner Policy:

To secure confirmation, players are required to complete their payment and have both a registered and paid partner. In the absence of payment or a registered/paid partner, players may be moved to a wait list if the division for which a spot is being held becomes fully subscribed by fully registered and paid teams.

Partner Replacement Guidelines:

Following the closure of registration, players who find themselves without a partner have the option to replace their original partner with either a registered or non-registered player. The replacement partner must belong to the same skill and age group in which you are scheduled to compete. Players are permitted to play in a lower age category or a higher skill level. Any partner replacements must be identified and communicated to the registration contact no later than 6:00 PM on the day prior to your scheduled play. Please consult the list of players seeking partners to find suitable replacements.

Refund Policy: As of September 19th, all registration fees for the NVZ SoCal Invitational are non-refundable. In the event that a registered participant is unable to attend, refunds will not be granted. Please note that NVZ SoCal Invitational reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the tournament due to unforeseen circumstances. Should such a situation arise, registered participants will be promptly informed of any changes and offered alternatives, which may involve transferring their registration to a future event.

Participant Substitution: If a player finds themselves unable to participate after September 19th, they have the option to substitute their spot with another player who is registered without a partner or is not yet registered. REGISTRATION INSURANCE POLICY:

SEPT 18TH, 2023 - CANCELLATION DEADLINE

If you withdraw before the CANCELLATION DEADLINE ABOVE, you will be issued a full refund (with a $25 processing fee deducted) without the need to purchase Registration Insurance.

NVZ Pickleball events take place outdoors. In the event of adverse weather conditions or any unforeseen circumstances, the NVZ team is committed to making every effort to ensure the continuation of matches. If a bracket is in progress when such conditions arise, each situation will be carefully assessed to decide whether the ongoing matches can be completed or if winners should be determined based on a case-by-case evaluation.
