The Pacific Northwest’s best pickleball experience just got better! For 2024, all amateur doubles events will be round robin matches with a single or double-elimination playoff to determine medal winners. All amateur doubles players are guaranteed a minimum of 5 matches.
Our outdoor courts are among the finest in the region and two indoor venues mean the games will go on even if the weather turns. NOTE: THIS IS A USA PICKLEBALL SANCTIONED TOURNAMENT. USA PICKLEBALL MEMBERSHIP VALID THROUGH JULY 28, 2024 IS REQUIRED PRIOR TO REGISTRATION. TO JOIN OR UPDATE YOUR MEMBERSHIP, CLICK HERE: USA PICKLEBALL MEMBERSHIP. PLEASE READ: When registering for DOUBLES, the second player MUST register within 2 days of the first player. If a player does not register within the specified time limit, the first player will be placed on the wait list automatically. Emails will go out to both players when this happens. Once the second player registers they will be moved off the wait list IF there is still room in the event.
Bracket sizes may be increased based on demand, usually gauged by size of wait list. When maximum capacity for a day is reached, all events for that day will be closed.
RATINGS
Players MUST register at the higher of their UTPR, PBR, WPR, or Self rating. TD will move players to a higher skill level where there is a significant likelihood that the player rating does not reflect the actual skill of the individual player.
FORMATS
Amateur Doubles Events:
Round Robin brackets, 4 or more teams, 1-15 win-by-two with a single, double-elimination, or 1 vs 2 (Gold/Silver), 3 vs 4 (Bronze) playoff bracket to determine medal winners. Playoff/medal format depends on the number of teams in the bracket.
Amateur Singles Events:
Double Elimination Brackets, Singles Events, 5 or more teams.
- Winners bracket – 1-15, win-by-2.
- Loser bracket – 1-15, win-by-2.
- Bronze medal matches – 1-15, win-by-2.
- Gold Medal Matches – 2/3-11, win-by-2 (with tiebreaker as needed.)
Pro Events:
Double Elimination Brackets, all events, 5 or more teams:
- Winners bracket – 2/3-11, win-by-2.
- Loser bracket – 1-15, win-by-2.
- Bronze medal matches – 1-15, win-by-2.
- Gold Medal Matches – 2/3-11 (with tiebreaker as needed.)
Pro Events, 4 teams:
Single Round Robin to seed Double Elimination playoff Bracket.
Round Robin Format: 2/3-11, win-by-two.
Double Elimination Format:
- Winners bracket – 2/3-11, win-by-2.
- Loser bracket – 1-15, win-by-2.
- Bronze medal matches – 1-15, win-by-2.
- Gold Medal Matches – 2/3-11 (with tiebreaker as needed.)
Brackets with fewer than 4 teams:
Brackets with fewer than 4 teams or players may be cancelled or moved into a combined bracket with the next nearest age group at the discretion of the Tournament Director. The number of teams or players will determine the format of play. Multiple age groups with the same skill level may be combined where needed because of insufficient numbers in age groups.
Round Robin Bracket Winners:
Round Robin winners will be determined by USA Pickleball Rulebook 12.C.4 et seq:
The winner is determined based on number of matches won. (In 2/3-11 format, a match consists of 2 or 3 games.)
If two or more teams are tied:
- First tie-breaker: head-to-head matches won.
- Second tie-breaker: point differential of all games played.
- Third tie-breaker: head-to-head point differential.
- Fourth tie-breaker: point differential against next-highest team.

All events will be played in accordance with USA Pickleball rules and regulations in effect at the time of the tournament. Only equipment approved by USA Pickleball is permitted. See USA Pickleball website for further information.
MEDALS IN COMBINED BRACKETS
Wherever brackets have been combined to include multiple age and/or skill groups, a gold medal will be awarded to the team finishing closest to the medal match in each age or skill group unless that team finishes in the top three in the bracket and subject to the following:
1: There must be more than one team/player in the age or skill group.
2: The top team/player must win a minimum of one match.
PLAYERS CHANGING PARTNERS
Any registered player replacing a partner for any reason must replace that partner with a partner qualified to play in the same skill/age group scheduled to play. New partners can play down in age and up in skill. Bracket changes may be allowed depending on space in a new bracket and whether the schedule has been posted. No bracket changes will be allowed after close of registration. Replacements need to be known and communicated to kfoster@bendpickleballclub.com by 6pm the day before the bracket is scheduled to play. Replacements can be found on the Players Needing Partners list.
Any replacement must:
-have a current USAPickleball membership valid through the last day of the tournament.*
-be registered for the tournament in pickleballbackets.com with fees paid.
