Welcome to the first Paddle for Purpose presented through the partnership of BEL Rotary and the Lakefield Community Care.

This event is intended to be an introductory tournament that will also allow pickleball players to give back to the community. All proceeds will be shared by BEL Rotary and the Lakefield Community Care.

Sunday, September 21st will be Men's and Women's partners day

30 teams Men's teams and 30 Women's teams DUPR rating Level of

* 2.00 - 2.99 (10 teams for each gender),

* 3.0 -3.49 (10 teams for each gender),

* OR 3.5 - 4.5 (10 teams for each gender)

Levels will be used to create the closest competition levels possible if not all divisions are filled.

Round Robin starts at 8:30 with registration open at 8:00am.

Playoffs immediately following lunch

Lunch will be provided both days for all registered participants between 12:15 and 1:00pm. Report any dietary restrictions when you register by emailing mrichardson@selwyntownship.ca.

Play will be with the Franklin X40 ball, official ball of Pickleball Ontario.

Players are responsible for ensuring that their paddle is on the USAP approved paddle list.

Each player must register and pay individually, your spot is not secure until both partners are fully registered and paid.

There is some seating at the venue but please bring your own camp chair.

There will be lots of water available throughout the day. Bring your own reusable water bottles because there will be no plastic water bottles available.

A five team round robin will be played for each division. Top three teams in each pool get a bye in the first playoff round.

Tiebreakers will be head to head first. Total points for and against will be used should a tie still exist.

Car pooling is encouraged and parking on the west side of the road, in the ball diamond parking or marshland parking are permitted. Organizers may require participants and spectators to move their vehicles.

The organizers reserve the right to expand and reduce the divisions based on sign ups and waiting list numbers.

All decisions by the organizers regarding rulings, format changes or judgement calls will be final and not open to appeal.

Refunds are available up until September 15th at 5:00pm. After September 15th Refunds will NOT be available. Refunds will be issued after the tournament.

Rain date is October 5th.

Shade is limited so sun protection is encouraged including pop-up tents, sun umbrellas and sun screen. Frequent hydration is strongly encouraged.

Alcohol or cannabis of any description is strictly forbidden and will result in immediate disqualification from the event.
