Welcome to the second annual Paddle for Purpose Pickleball Tournament presented through the partnership of BEL Rotary and the Lakefield Community Care.
This event will be another introductory tournament that will also allow pickleball players to give back to the community. All proceeds will be shared by BEL Rotary and the Lakefield Community Care. All play is doubles.
Saturday, June 6th from 8am to 12noon there will be an Open Mixed tournament. Registration/sign-in will start at 7:30. From 1pm to 5pm there will be Open Men's and Women's events too! Registration/sign-in for this is 12:30pm.
EVENT 1 * 16 mixed teams will be put in 4 pools of 4 teams for Round Robin play of 1 game to 15 against each opponent. Each pool is on their own court. The Playoffs will be for all teams with a Championship and Consolation event. Matches will be 2 of 3 to 11 in playoffs.
Top three in each event will be awarded prizes. All teams are guaranteed 5 matches.
Lunch will be available for purchase through the Lakefield Lions food truck if you do not want to bring your own.
After lunch there will be a Women's 8 team event and Men's 8 team event.
EVENT 2 * 8 Men's and 8 Men's teams will be put in 2 pools of 4 teams for Round Robin play of 1 game to 15 against each opponent. Each pool is on their own court.
The Playoffs will be for all teams with a Championship event for all winners. Matches will be 2 of 3 to 11 in playoffs.
Top three in each event will be awarded prizes. All teams are guaranteed 5 games.
Play will be with the Franklin X40 ball, official ball of Pickleball Ontario.
Players are responsible for ensuring that their paddle is on the USAP approved paddle list.
